Pontiac Mayor Deirdre Holloway Waterman

The mayor of a city in Michigan, was slapped with a lawsuit after being accused of removing kitchen sinks from an office, following an eviction, according to court documents.

196 Oakland Properties wants $33,000 from Pontiac Mayor Deirdre Holloway Waterman, who was accused of removing six kitchen sinks along with cabinets and counter tops.

Waterman was a doctor for more than 30 years, and was leasing office space at the Waterman Center building at 91 N. Saginaw.

Last year, 196 Oakland Properties took possession of the property after she failed to pay rent. Waterman moved out, but in the process allegedly removed six sinks and counter tops.

The lawsuit is seeking compensation for damages, unpaid rent, late fees, court costs and garbage collection.

Waterman denied the allegations, saying that she owned everything as the building once belonged to her husband, District Judge William Waterman.
