The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) director of new media, Deji Adeyanju, has alleged that the pair of shoes worn by President Muhammadu Buhari to Equatorial Guinea on March 14, costs $8,000 (about N2,592,000).

The PDP man who is well known for his strict criticism of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), especially the president, noted in a series of tweets, that the president now wears such an expensive pair of shoes after saying that he was initially poor.

Following the series of tweets by the PDP chieftain, Nigerians have reacted with series of mixed comments. While some mocked the president, several others believed that the president would never have worn such an expensive shoe unless perhaps, if he got it as a gift.
