Alamieyeseigha’s ‘burial in Bayelsa state The governor said this at the thanksgiving ceremony of the late Alamieyeseigha at St. Peters Anglican Church in Yenagoa on Sunday, April 10. Late Diepreye Alamieyeseigha before being laid to rest He said the passing away of the late governor was a big void and urged leaders to emulate him and try to do more. Dickson noted that the late chief fought for the interest of Ijaw people and although he had some adversaries. He expressed gratitude to all who graced the funeral ceremonies and emphasized that irrespective of differences; the major concern should be the interest of the people.
He said for the state to make progress, people should imbibe the culture of respect for constituted authority and shun the pull-him -down syndrome for leaders, noting that, the state government has institutionalized support and honour for deserving leaders of the state and the Ijaw nation.
