Finally: President Buhari reveals Identity of herdsmen responsible for killings

Buhari who made this disclosure on Saturday, May 14 in London on the CNN said following the fall of the Ghadaffi regime, some people from the Sahel who were trained by the regime dispatched to other countries in the region and began causing trouble.

He said:
“It is a major regional and virtually African problem now. There is one called Al Qaeda; there is Boko Haram and so on. It is a governmental project now to trace, disarm, try and discipline them.”
The president who said it was the custom for herdsmen to roam about to feed their cattle complained that the cattle routes and grazing areas marked for herdsmen had been taken over and turned to farms by some influential persons.
He after people took over the land meant for cattle routes and grazing areas, pockets of clashes between farmers and herders erupted in parts of the country.
Meanwhile, suspected Fulani herdsmen have launched a fresh attack on Tarfi village, in Buruku local government area, Benue state, killing at least 12 people.
Vanguard reports that the attack also left so many villagers with different degrees of wounds while several others were still reported missing and unaccounted for.
The source stated that the armed men raided the village in their numbers from neighbouring Tarka local government at about 11pm, shooting periodically and setting ablaze houses and huts in the community.
