Violence is not and can never be a solution; it causes more problems! A man identified as Keji Osunjirin in Ogun State capital, Abeokuta, has been arrested after he set his wife alight by pouring petrol he brought home in a jerry can on her because she attends a party he warned not to attend.
Unfortunately, the wife died in the hospital from severe burns.
According to their neigbours who spoke to Premium Times, the husband arrived home late at night with a container of petrol, hours after they had a quarrel. He attacked his wife after she refused his earlier warnings and instructions not to attend a party.
The man later rushed his dying wife to the hospital after realizing the havoc he had caused, they said.
But according to the husband, he mistakenly threw the petrol can on his wife after it caught fire in his own hands saying the petrol was meant for their generator.
Police is investigation the case before taking appropriate action against the man.
