Suspected rapist who allegedly terrorizes communities and recently r*ped and murdered a 27-year-old lady, Grace Obinna, at Ibeshe in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, almost lost his life on Sunday when some members of the community identified him and immediate pounced on the suspect.
While attempting to r*pe Obinna, who had a nine-month-old, Badoo violently attacked the woman.
They were about to lynch him when operatives of Rapid Respond Squad (RRS) got to the scene and saved him. But the police had a hectic time wresting the suspect from the mob which was bent on lynching and setting him ablaze.
Not satisfied, the mob descended on the palace of the Olu of Ibeshe. They vandalised the palace, according to sources. The people were angry that the suspect initially took refuge in the palace. The mob then accused the monarch of shielding the suspected r*pist cum killer.
A resident, Adenike, had said: “We don’t know the power this man is using. He used to sneak into ladies’ apartment to r*pe them. He would later wipe their private part with a handkerchief.”
Residents alleged that Badoo had r*ped two other women before Obinna. He allegedly used to inflict knife cuts on his victims after r*ping them. Obinna, a mother of one, was r*ped and killed last week.
He is now in police custody, undergoing interrogation.
