Police Officers arrested for stripping, assaulting a teenage girl... photos

The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested three police officers and the serving Coordinator of Ohaozara Development Centre, Ene Ogbonnaya,
for alleged complicity in the torture and indecent assault of a 15-year-old minor, Uzoamaka Unogbo.

The Commissioner of Police, Peace Abdallah, made the disclosure in Abakaliki, the capital, while he was briefing journalists on the efforts of the command to reduce crime in the state.

The CP said Ogbonnaya and two others allegedly tortured and indecently assaulted the victim in Umunaga village, in the Ohaozara area of the state. The CP said:

"They stripped her naked, whipped her with cables and canes and, thereafter, posted her nude pictures and video on the social media.

“The policemen indicted in the incident have also been arrested and they are going through the police disciplinary procedures before the commencement of prosecution. The victim has just been able to make her painful statement and the case is being diligently investigated to ensure that justice is done in this scandalous act.”

Abdallah said the victim did not commit any offence to warrant the torture.

This is the same girl some people flooded the net with pictures of her being flogged by a man with the claim that her father caught her sleeping with a boy in their house. That story was false.
