Yesterday, January 23, 2017, Kenya Veterinary officers killed 82 dogs, 2 cats and a honey badger after rabies had been detected among some animals in Yatta, Machakos.

According to the authorities, the animals were killed following the threat of rabies which is a deadly viral disease that could affect the local community.

Some of the residents of Yatta had complained before the mass killing but couldn't stop the veterinary officers from doing their job.
