A 48-year-old man, Ganiu has been arrested by officials of the Ekiti state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
He was arrested on Monday, August 8, alongside four other members of his gang inside a bush at Iwaro, Oke Ila Quarters of Ado-Ekiti, where they were performing rituals on a Nigerian based in the United States, Okechukwu Omeniho

Omeniho, 49, was rescued from his captors by the NSCDC
Ganiu, a suspected ritualist and his gang members, Ifashola Babatunde, 44; Akin Ono, 25; Yusuf Akorede, 30; and Adetifa Ishola, 45, were said to have defrauded Omeniho of N300,000.
The victim, a businessman who hails from Owerri, Imo state but resides in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. is believed to have been charmed under the pretext of appeasing gods of fortunes and prosperity for him.
When he was rescued by the Counter-Terrorism and Intelligence Units of NSCDC between 8.30am and 9.00am, 49-year-old Omeniho could not explain how he fell into the hands of the fraudsters and ritualists.
