The divorce proceedings between Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams and his estranged wife Aryn Drake-Lee has completely degenerated into a nasty media drama.
According to TMZ, the actor has just slammed Aryn in court by labelling her a sit-at-home mum who stays with the nanny and waits on him to provide the money. And this comes after Aryn filed for full custody of their children on grounds that the actor literally has no presence in their lives.
In the documents he filed, he said Aryn only has the “incredible privilege of being a stay-at-home mom with a full-time nanny”, and even though he has to earn what the family spends, Aryn still restricts his access to his children.
The actor went on to add that Aryn physically and verbally abused him in front of their children, that she screamed at him while the kids watched and once repeatedly slammed the front door on his legs while yelling at him. As though that was not enough, the mum allegedly leaves the TV on when he wants to speak with the kids to distract the kids.
Recall that their 13 years marriage failed after the actor was rumoured to be having an affair with co-actor Minka Kelly. At first he denied it, and finally weeks ago, confirmed the story.
Now, his estranged wife’s lawyer is accusing him of hurting her using the media. The lawyer told the press this:
“It is a shame that Mr Williams chose to place the children and his family’s transition in the public domain. Aryn has been working tirelessly to maintain Mr Williams’ bond with their children and it is important to remember that his one-sided allegations are made with a specific goal in mind. The judge is fully informed on both sides and will be making the final decision.”
It is unclear how this will end for the two. Sadly, it is already a nasty affair.
