A shocking story is unfolding in Kenya after police in Kabuchai Constituency of Bungoma County nabbed a man who attempted to bury his mother alive following a land dispute.

In a rather bizarre twist to the family dispute, Mr Chris Wamalwa, 40, decided to bury his mother at Siuno village in Kabuchai constituency but came unstuck when passersby were alerted to his evil plan.
It was his mother’s cry for help that saved her, as it drew the attention of a crowd to the spot where the suspect was struggling to bury her in a pit latrine that was halfway dug.
Narrating her ordeal, Ms Beatrice Nasaka told how her son had forced her to give him the land which had already been sold, the Nation writes.
“I’m a widow and my only property will save me from poverty. I had sold a piece of plot so that I can use the money for my personal needs and when my son heard of the sale, he rushed to my home and demanded for a share. He attempted to bury me after he failed to get what he wanted,” said the victim, who added that her son wasn’t contented with the one-acre piece of land she bought him in a neighbouring village.
The suspect has been whisked to the Nalondo police camp while investigation continues.
