‘People should watch who they attack’ – Stephanie Linus furious over ‘Dry’ theft allegation

Stephanie Okereke-Linus

Nollywood actress and producer, Stephanie Linus is livid at what she labelled to be ‘outrageous’ claims that her 2015 film, Dry is a work she stole.
Daniella Madudu claims that Dry is her intellectual property and there are indications that, like Okafor’s Law, a long legal battle lies ahead.
According to Madudu, she gave manuscripts of her book to a friend – Joy Ndidi – for editing after which Ndidi became an assistant to Linus, thus explaining why ‘unoriginality’ of the story.
In a recent interview, Stephanie Linus has expressed her anger at Madudu’s claims.
She said, ‘Because you’re a popular person, someone thinks that they can wake up from anywhere and lie or smear your personality. It just doesn’t make sense; this movie has been on the public space for how many years?
‘I’m almost moving to the next project and all of a sudden you just remember that something happened.’
About the impending legal battle, Linus added, ‘It’s really outrageous and I just feel it’s very sad and maybe people should pick their battle and watch the person they need to attack.’
According to the producer, she has never met Madudu and she only met Ndidi after she had completed shoot for the film in question.
