The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered INEC to continue the process of recalling Senator Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West in the green chamber. Members of his constituents had signed a recall register in June and sent to the electoral body.

Dino approached the court to declare the recall petition submitted to INEC Chairman, Prof. Yakubu Mahmood, as illegal, unlawful, wrongful, unconstitutional, invalid, null, void and of no effect whatsoever. He has also accused the state governor, Yahaya Bello, of being behind his recall process.
Delivering judgment in the suit this morning, Justice Nnamdi Dimg class='img-responsive text-center' style='margin: auto;'ba, ruled that INEC should go ahead with recall process of Senator Dino Melaye subject to the service of the petition, the full list and signatures of persons in support of the recall process.
Justice Dimg class='img-responsive text-center' style='margin: auto;'ba judgment terminates the earlier ex parte order made by Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on July 6th directing parties to maintain status quo.
