Robbery suspects say hunger led them into crime

 

Two suspected burglars arrested by the police for stealing in Abia State said that hunger led them to the robbery.

The two suspects identified as Ifendi Eke and Nwokocha Ndukwe were arrested by police operatives attached to the Abiriba Division in Abia State.
The suspects were reported to have burgled the house of one Agbara Ashiegbu, who is a businessman based in Cameroon.
Electronic gadgets, bags and empty cartons of Plasma television are the items recovered from them.

 According to a source that spoke to Southern City News, the two were arrested through information that was received about cases of burglary and stealing in the community.
The two suspects are indigenes of Abiriba community, Abia State. They were arrested along with Arua Agbai, the man suspected to be the one assisting them in selling their loots.
He, however, claimed he did not know that the Plasma Television they sold to him was stolen.
He said, “I don’t know anything about these stolen items. It was one of the suspects, now at large, that brought the television to me to buy; it was when I opened the carton that I saw the receipts of the original owner before I sold it to another person.”
The suspects pleading for mercy said they were led into the robbery by hunger and the devil.
