The police in Lagos yesterday brought the son of the self-proclaimed messiah, Jesu Oyingbo, Adebola Odumosu, before a Yaba Magistrate’s Court. Odumosu was charged with four counts of alleged defilement, obtaining money under false pretences, a threat to life and violence, before Magistrate O.G. Oghre. His arraignment followed a petition to the police from his estranged lover, Folashade Olatunji, accusing Odumosu of raping her teenage niece and procuring two abortions for her. Odumosu pleaded not guilty. Magistrate Oghre granted the defendant N1million bail with two sureties in the like sum, who must provide evidence of three years tax clearance. The court also directed that the case file be duplicated to the Director, Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice. Trouble started for Odumosu last week after he allegedly leaked information of the crimes, which were committed some years ago, to a United Kingdom-based blogger. He was said to have given the information to the blogger so as to spite Olatunji, a business rival to the woman he leaked the information to. Odumosu was also alleged to have leaked nude pictures of Olatunji to the rival, who allegedly shared them on her social media page.
