One man has been killed while five others
were injured in a shooting at a funeral party, in the area of Forstall
Street and Burgandy street, a New Orleans neighborhood.
The police said a
crowd of 300 people were in the 5200 block of Burgundy when several
gunshots were fired.
New Orleans Police said the shooting took
place around 8pm Saturday in an area where a large crowd
gathered. Police said five males and a woman were found on the street
and sidewalk with apparent gunshot wounds to the body. The five who were
shot had injuries that were not life threatening.

The victims were between the ages of 24 to 30 years old.
Police said an alleged disagreement led to the shooting that took place during a party after a funeral.
People at the scene Saturday also described police being close enough to the shooting when it started that officers had to seek cover behind their cruisers upon hearing the gunfire.
Police say a male died at the scene.
One person of interest is in custody. The names of the victims and suspect have not been released.
