Multi award-winning Nollywood actress, director and businesswoman, Mercy Aigbe, who is best known for her Yoruba language movies, has taken to her Instagram page to update her fans on her latest role for an upcoming movie.
The pretty screen goddess posted some photos where she was captured in full Nigerian Police uniform with a gun and captioned it; “In the line of Duty….. Meet Officer Dolapo in the movie ALABI THE TERROR produced and directed by @segunogungbefilms.”
She posted another one and wrote; “Still filming ……. I will make a fine police officer.”
Mercy Aigbe is a professional Nollywood actress who has been able to interpret her roles perfectly. She has featured in a whole lot of movies, some of which are blockbusters. Mercy Aigbe is also a producer and she has produced quite a number of films.
She has starred in over 50 Yoruba films and has come off as one of the most sought-after names in the Yoruba genre. By not speaking English she has won the hearts of Yoruba movie lovers by going all the way, fitting in perfectly for both modern and traditional scenes.
Even though Mercy Aigbe is not of Yoruba descent, she worked her way to the top positions in the Yoruba version of Nollywood and she is doing just fine.
The actress and mother of two has not also been able to ward off the controversies that trail most Nigerian celebrities. She was engrossed in a marital crisis in the year 2017. This got so bloody that it almost tainted her image as a popular celebrity.
year 2018 was also started with controversy as a lady accused Mercy Aigbe and her designer of using her wedding gown for the actress’ birthday shoot. The issue is still being dragged with the latest development being that the aggrieved lady is asking for a legal address of the issue.
