Nigerian Soldier who lost his leg while fighting Boko Haram, accuses Nigerian Army of neglect

A Nigerian soldier identified as Engr Daniel Ndubuka Ekpo on Facebook, took to the platform to accuse the Nigerian army who he accused of neglecting him after he lost his left while fighting Boko Haram insurgents. Daniel who sent in a prayer point to a virtual ministry on the platform, asked the group to pray for Nigerian army officials in-charge of his treatment, so he can get proper treatment. Here’s what the Nigerian Soldier wrote;

I am a soldier among those that fight the menace of insurgency/Boko Haram at the North East,my Tank Ran into (IED) Improvise Explosive Device. in d process my two legs Was badly damaged and the left leg was amputated,I a still on hospital admission but Nigerian Army Has not given me a proper treatment and I am really suffering, please I want all the members to pray for the Army Authorities who are responsible for my treatment So that I will properly treated.

This is coming after at least eight soldiers died in heavy fighting, when Boko Haram raided a military camp and looted food from villagers in northeast Nigeria in October 2017.

The attack in Sasawa village, some 45 kilometres (28 miles) from the Yobe state capital, Damaturu, happened at about 5:00 pm (1600 GMT).

It was the third Boko Haram attack on the military in the remote region in the last two weeks, after a relative lull during the rainy season which ended in August. The spokesman for 3 Division Nigerian Army in Damaturu, Colonel Kayode Ogunsanya, on Wednesday confirmed the attack, saying only that there were “casualties on both sides”.

Boko Haram attacks on military bases were a frequent tactic as the group gained in size and strength, using the weapons and ammunition seized to capture swathes of territory. But such attacks and hit-and-run raids on remote villages reduced drastically after 2014, as a military counter-offensive was launched.
