Another school shooting has just been reported at a high school in Maryland, US.
Great Mills High School in Maryland, where the shooting took place, is on "lockdown". The county sheriff said deputies are on the scene, and that parents or guardians should stay away from the school. Parents are to go instead to Leonardtown High School to reunite with Great Mills students there.
The school is on lock down," the school district said and added that the incident has been contained.
"The Sheriff’s office is on the scene; additional information to follow," the statement said.
Jonathan Freese, a student at Great Mills, told CNN he was in lockdown in his math class. He said police are going through classrooms to clear the school, and students will then be escorted out of the school.
He added: "I’m still a little shaken up."
A reporter with the Baltimore Sun, citing a county spokesperson, reported there were three people shot with no confirmed deaths.
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan and Rep. Steny Hoyer tweeted that they're monitoring reports and urged people to follow the instructions of local law enforcement at the scene.
