Pasuma is my leader, Osupa remains my brother —Taye Currency

Contrary to a report published in some online medium recently that Fuji star Taye Adebisi popularly known as Currency had adopted Saheed Osupa as his father in the Fuji music industry, Currency has said the statement credited to him as totally false.
The Ibadan-based artiste said neither him nor his representatives at any time issued such statement where he was said to have dumped his mentor, Wasiu Alabi, otherwise known as Pasuma and adopted Osupa.

Currency said he was surprised some mischievous elements could concort lies capable of destroying not only his name but his relationship with two of the most respected Fuji stars in Nigeria, adding that the only father figure in the Fuji circle remained King Waisu Ayinde (K1).

At the just-concluded Ariya Repete organised by Goldberg, the singer was said to have described Osupa as his father but Currency said he didn’t utter such statement at the event.
“I really would have ignored the story but calls and interventions from the people I respect put me in a tight corner and I could not keep quiet anymore. I urge the public to ignore the story as there was never a time I released such statement and I am sure my representatives did not do such,” he said.

Currency, who described himself as a major force in the industry, insisted, that he and Osupa are from the same town and he “respects him for what he has done in the industry.”

He maintained that the only father he reckoned with in the Fuji music wass K1.”K1 is everything to Fuji music and eevrybody respects him for the fatherly role he has been playing. For me, Pasuma remains my leader and confidant and we are very close while Osupa is my brother,” he said.
