Saliu Adeniyi is not the only politician that has sparked outrage with what he commissioned. Few months ago, Senator representing Niger South senatorial district of Niger State, Senator Mustapha Sani Mohammed commissioned an electric pole as the dividends of democracy to his senatorial district.

The commissioning was graced by notable dignitaries in company of other villagers. Trust Nigerians, they took the Senator to the cleaners!!Recall also that in 2017, a Bayelsa State lawmaker, Kate Owoko, who built a floating latrine for her people which sparked outrage by Nigerians, defended her action. According to Kate, the toilet was built based on the pressing demand of the women of Okori-Ama and Oweidei-Ama of Amassoma, the town of late Bayelsa governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.

“These were the pressing (immediate) need from these women at the time. Due to the terrain of these said compounds, they were in grave need for such toilets to answer to the ‘call-of-nature’.

These politicians were called out by Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who described the constituency projects being embarked upon by the lawmakers as “corruption.” Obasanjo said this at the opening of a two-day investment forum organised by the Niger State Government in Minna.READ ALSO!

The forum had “Impact of Investing for Advancing Agricultural Economy and Innovation,” as its theme.

Obasanjo said;

“The Sultan talked about roads, I hope our lawmakers will use their position and act positively so that when they put in road projects in the budget they will not turn it into what they now term as constituency projects.

“You and I know what constituency projects mean. It is simply corruption.”
