Traffic robber knocked down during operation lailasnewsA traffic robber identified as Ismaila Yisa, was reportedly knocked down by road users during his operation on Alaka bridge, Lagos Island road, Alaka, Lagos on Monday.The suspect who took advantage of the slight traffic congestion around 6.30am, to attack and rob one Mrs. Temitope alongside his gang members, succeeded in breaking the glass of her car and was trying to snatch her bag, when policemen were spotted approaching the scene.

 
MercyBabsnews reported that the traffic robber who tried escaping as police officers approached the scene, was knocked down by a vehicle and was caught.

This is coming few months after the Lagos State Task Force nabbed a notorious traffic robber, who pretended to be selling soft drinks and pure water to motorists at Oshodi bridge. SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, the Chairman of the Task Force, disclosed that the traffic robber was apprehended by officers of the Agency positioned at Oshodi bridge to check criminal activities.

Egbeyemi stated that the traffic robber was arrested after he had broken a driver’s side screen of a Toyota Corolla car with a hammer and snatched two phones and a bag containing valuables. The task force Chairman stated further that immediately the suspect was arrested and every item stolen recovered, the owner was called on phone to pick up her bag and the two phones at the Task Force office in Bolade, Oshodi.
Egbeyemi, who commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for providing necessary modern security tools assured members of the public that the Agency will not relent in its efforts to completely rid Oshodi and the State as a whole of such unscrupulous elements. He confirmed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, directed that the arrested traffic robber be charged to court for prosecution and other syndicates in this shady act should be arrested within Oshodi and its environs.
