The Benue State Police have arrested a gang of armed robbers including a female, notorious for terrorising motorist/commuters along Vandeikya-Adikpo road.
The robbers identified as Mnguember Apuu, the only female, Anger Kunav, Iorungwa Hywakaa, Fanen Yev and Igbadoo Sule who is the gang leader, were arrested following a tipoff.
Exhibits recovered from them include two Locally Fabricated guns, One expended Cartridge, Three (3) 9mm live ammunition, Five (5) Cutlasses, One small Axe, Two (2) polythene bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and Three (3) black jackets and assorted charms being used for their operations. Other items suspected to have been robbed from innocent citizens include New clothes, Eight Handsets, One laptop and One Motorcycle
The suspects confessed to being the ones robbing people on that axis as the lady among them usually keeps their arms after every operation.
The Commissioner of Police E. Ene Okon restated the Command's commitment to rid the state of all forms of criminality and appreciated the good people of the State for their cooperation in the fight against crime.
