The late Baba Ọba, Lukman Arohunfale, a revered socialite and traditionalist, passed away under circumstances already sparking fierce controversy. On Sunday, March 10th, an Ethiopian airplane crashed in Kenya and there were no survivors from the mishap. While a lot of people were mourning, a young man identified as Temitope Johnsaw questioned why the gay couple were not among the dead.
Responding to the troll, Bisi Alimi wrote: “Hate is too much a burden to bear”- MLK. It is not so much that someone wishes another death because they love differently from them, but it is about using their hate to mock the dead. Just while the families of the dead are mourning, this man uses the situation to wish us dead. I repeat; hate is too much a burden to bear.”
