BREAKING: UBEC Chairman, Daughter Kidnapped Along Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, Driver Shot Dead

The board chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Muhammed Mahmood, and his daughter were kidnapped by unknown gunmen along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway yesterday Monday, April 29th.

Kidnappers on Monday abducted the board chairman of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Muhammed Mahmood, along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway.

Mr Mahmood was abducted alongside his daughter while travelling from Kaduna to Abuja Monday afternoon while his driver was killed.

They were kidnapped around Katari, a village few kilometres from Zuba, an Abuja suburb.

The Kaduna-Abuja road has witnessed many cases of kidnappings in recent times.The spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, Yakubu Sabo, said the force is working on getting more details and would release a statement later on Monday.

Recall that Governor El-Rufai witnessed kidnap attempt himself along Kaduna-Abuja Expressway when his convoy foiled attempted kidnapping of motorists along the notorious road.
