Wizkid Resumes Work, Talks On ‘Made In Lagos’ Album

Wizkid, award-winning singer, has resumed work and talks on his forthcoming album, ‘Made in Lagos,’ which he described as “the best he ever made”.
‘Made in Lagos,’ the singer’s 4th studio album, has been teased and talked about for close to a year now, even though Starboy has made the release date a top secret.

In a couple of now-deleted tweets, the singer had stated earlier last year  that the forthcoming album would be dropped on October 1, 2018 — but it was not released.
Wizkid owned his space as a music sensation with his first studio album ‘Superstar’ in 2011, followed by ‘Ayo’, a self-titled album he dropped three years later.
‘Sounds from the Other Side’ announced the beginning of ‘Starboy Entertainment’, the singer’s music label.
Despite the massive success of his past albums, the Afropop star seems to be insinuating that ‘Made In Lagos’ will outshine his previous works.
” ‘Gong’ blessed me…highest level of vibration! #MadeinLagos! Best I ever made. Yes, Fada!” Wizkid wrote on his Instagram page.
Last year, the ‘Fever’ crooner had also told Tim Westwood, British disc jockey, that his forthcoming album will not include any collaborations but will be “straight Wizkid”.
“The new album is called Made in Lagos, Wizkid Made in Lagos; 10 tracks, no features just straight Wizkid,” he had said.
But some months ago, the gifted music star made an Instagram live video where he revealed that he was working with Teniola Apata, Burna Boy and Shaydee Boi.
In another recent social media post, Wizkid can be spotted standing next to Damien Marley, youngest son of Bob Marley, Jamaican reggae legend, in what appears to be a studio session.
“Kick back and give thanks to the one that creates life. Yes Fada!! #MadeInlagos…This one is special to me,” the Afrobeat star wrote.
These are clear pointers that Wizkid’s soon-to-be-released project may not only feature Nigerian acts but also collaborations from a number of foreign musicians.
Despite the built-up anticipation that has characterised the album, Wizkid’s loyal fans are optimistic that the project will be worth the wait.
