‘How Senator Abbo Assaulted’ — Journalistphotojournalist, Owolabi Olumuyiwa, has come out to reveal how he was attacked and assaulted by Adamawa-North lawmaker, Senator Elisha Abbo.
Just days ago, a video surfaced online, showing Abbo repeatedly slapping a woman in a sex toy shop in Abuja, which has since caused him to be interrogated by the police.
In this fresh scandal, however, Owolabi accused the Senator of assault and breach of the agreement.
In an interview with Punch, Owolabi stated that he met the senator back in 2014, during the run-up to Ekiti State governorship election which Ayodele Fayose won.
As the official photographer of Fayose during the election, Owolabi, while on duty, met Abbo in Ekiti State and the senator told him he has some jobs for him.
Owolabi narrated that he travelled to Adamawa State from Abuja, by air, alongside Abbo and they lodged at Lelewa hotel for weeks, during which the campaign for the primaries which was eventually won by Senator Binta Garba, was going on.
According to Owolabi, he travelled with the senator to many other places and then back to Yola, after he lost the senatorial primaries, and when it was time to deal with the agreement, Aboo refused to pay, despite pleas to pay him part of his money.
The photojournalist said he resorted to sitting in front of the room of the hotel Abbo lodged in and when the senator saw him, he got angry and started beating and slapping him repeatedly, and even told his orderly to pour a gin on him, saying he would have him killed and lie that he is a member of Boko Haram.
Owolabi was taken to the station where he begged an officer there to allow him to make a phone call to his people.
He eventually got in touch with his brother who got him out of the situation.
Till date, Abbo is yet to pay him for his job, Owolabi narrated.
