Before his conviction, Nwude was the biggest shareholder in Union Bank Plc, and had controlling shares in several banks and blue chip companies. Photo of lady who planned her own kidnap with boyfriend...

Grace Igwe, 22 yrs old who lives with her parents at 19, Agulu Street, Umuahia, Abia State, reportedly organised her own abduction with her boyfriend, Sunday Bright.

Grace and Bright were yesterday paraded by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Leye Oyebade. Bright, according to Oyebade, is from Esan North, Edo State.

He was arrested in connection with the abduction of the lady after she was reported missing by her father, Obinna Igwe, on August 9. “Search for the whereabouts of the missing Grace Igwe by the police and the family of the victim yielded positive result when an unknown caller demanded N100,000 ransom, which was paid in parts into the bank account of the suspect.

“This link was followed by the police in their investigation until the suspect was arrested on September 9 at Akpakpava area in Benin City, Edo State and the suspect led the police on the rescue of the victim,” CP Oyebade said.

Narrating his side of the story, Bright said his girlfriend, Grace, came to him demanding N200,000 and when he said he did not have the money she pressed for whatever he could afford. He explained that because of the pressure and the urgency of the demand he suspected she had fallen into the hands of fraudsters who wanted her to bring the money.

Bright said he asked her whether the parents were aware of the development and she said no. From that time he started making contacts with her parents to raise the money demanded by the fraudsters who Grace alleged took her phone and other valuables until she returned with the ransom.

The boyfriend claimed that when it became obvious that she was a victim of fraudsters, he decided to help her raise the money by making calls and text messages to her parents and in the process he was arrested by the police.

Grace stayed with him for three weeks and they were enjoying while her parents were crying.

Hillary Clinton beats Donald Trump in the US Presidential Debate...

Hillary Clinton has emerged as the winner in the epic first US presidential debate, as Donald Trump tied himself in knots and let his frustrations boil over as the contest dragged on.

Trump began the debate strongly, excelling as he argued on his own terms about the perils of "badly negotiated" free trade deals killing blue collar jobs, his business-tax-slashing plan to create jobs and the failed establishment political class that Clinton personifies.

Yet the showman failed to sustain the momentum. Clinton and the debate moderator got under his skin on his failure to release personal tax returns, public records showing he did in fact support the Iraq war despite repeatedly denying it and his spreading of false rumours about Barack Obama's nationality.

In a successful blow, Clinton created doubts about whether Trump paid any federal tax and laid bare his alleged discrimination against African Americans at his company's rental apartments in the 1970s.

A frazzled Trump took Clinton's bait on almost every occasion and wasted valuable time giving confusing counter punches to accusations hurled at him as he lost control of the debate agenda.

"Trump was Trump and it wasn't a good night for him," said David Axelrod, a former campaign strategist for Barack Obama.

In contrast, Clinton was well prepared, on message, and disciplined at painting Trump as a shonky businessman who wants to cut taxes for the rich. A poised Clinton talked up the benefits of alliance-based foreign policy and reminded voters of her government experience to handle uncertain national security dangers.

Meet the Nigerian doctor who asked his patients 'If they like big ones or small ones' is suspended from practice in Canada..photo

A tribunal has found Dr. Adekunle Williams Owolabi guilty of all four professional misconduct complaints lodged against him and suspended his licence to practice for six months.

The decision was given Monday in St. John's, at the professional misconduct hearing against Owolabi conducted by a tribunal panel established by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.

At an earlier hearing, Labrador teacher Arlene Johnson testified that when she visited Owolabi for a pelvic exam he made comments that she believed were sexual. She also said that after the test, he hugged her and whispered in her ear: "You have a beautiful c--t, does your husband tell you that?"

Another complainant testified that during a pelvic examination, Owolabi asked, "Do you like big ones or small ones?"

She said Owolabi made the comments while she was pregnant, undressed from the waist down, and had her feet in stirrups. There were two female secretaries in the room at the time, she said.

The tribunal said Owolabi's inappropriate comments and touching of patients showed a lack of respect for the dignity and privacy of patients, which it determined constituted professional misconduct deserving sanction.

Owolabi was given a six-month suspension of his medical licence. The tribunal ordered that he have a chaperone present when he sees female patients for two years after returning to practice.

In addition, he must take a training course about respecting patients and was ordered to pay $75,000 towards the costs of holding a hearing.

Na wa o! Meet student who auctions her virginity to raise money to study abroad...photo

A 20-year-old student is auctioning her virginity online in order to raise enough money to study abroad.

Ariana, from Russia, is selling her virginity on an escort site, with bids starting at £130,500. Although she looked at other ways to raise money, she settled on the sale of her virginity as the easiest way to raise money quickly.

‘Many students have the issue that during their studies they have to deal with multiple problems. You have to go to work in order to pay for your education,’ said Ariana.

‘I want to move to another country for my studies in medicine. The university will be very expensive, the rent will also be high. I imagine that living in another country will be very hard, therefore I want to get the financial burden out of the way so I can focus on my medical studies,’ she said.

According to Ariana, her parents are not aware of how she is currently hoping to raise the money to start her new life abroad but she has no problem with explaining it to them when they eventually do discover what’s going on online.

And Ariana is not facing the auction alone. Her best friend Lolita is also auctioning her virginity, with bids starting at £130,500.

Despite having her friend alongside her, Ariana describes herself as an ‘independent woman’ and feels that selling her virginity is her own choice.

‘Why should I wait any longer?’ she said.

‘Why should I lose my virginity to someone who could then break my heart later?’

And while Ariana is looking at the sale from as an investment, she hopes the winner will be caring, and deal with her respectfully.

This pastor tortured over wife's death by OPC in Ogun state...photo

This pastor (pictured above) of the Christ Apostolic Church, Onigbogbo, Atan Ota, Ogun State, Pastor Olusegun Omoniyi, is critically ill after he was allegedly abducted and tortured by some members of the Oodua People’s Congress.

It was learnt that 45-year-old Omoniyi had also gone into hiding after he was rescued by policemen from the Sango Area Command. He said he feared for his life as the OPC members had threatened to recapture and kill him.

Punch Metro learnt that the OPC members were acting on the instruction of some relatives of Omoniyi’s late wife, Omolade, who had vowed to deal with him over the sickness and subsequent death of the woman.

Punch correspondent gathered that Omoniyi and his wife married in 1999 and had a set of twins in 2000. However, the twins were said to have died shortly after they were born.

It was learnt that since the death of the children, the couple had not been able to have any child, which resulted in pressures from Omolade’s family.

Early 2015, the wife was reported to have left the cleric despite entreaties from church leaders and relatives of the husband.

Punch Metro gathered that seven months after separating from the husband, the 42-year-old was attacked by a strange illness.

Omoniyi said, “She had told me that her family members didn’t want her to continue living with me, but I begged her to stay.

“However, sometime in 2015, I went for a church meeting when some of her family members came. They took away her property. Attempts at getting her family members to reconcile us were abortive as they said she had made her choice.

“However, in July 2015, I was told she was sick. On the instruction of the church leadership, I went with some other elders to give her N50,000. But her brother did not allow us to see her, saying I should go alone to see her. We refused.

“On February 6, 2016, while I was leading a church programme around 10am, four men entered the church. Two of them were OPC members and the others – Adebayo and Stephen – were my wife’s relatives. While I was on the altar, the two OPC members said they had come to take me away.

“I told them that I would not follow them since I did not know where they were taking me to. They beat me up and one of them showed me a gun and said if I didn’t cooperate, he would kill me.”

Omoniyi said he was thrown into a car belonging to his wife’s eldest brother, adding that he was blindfolded throughout the journey.

The cleric explained that he later found himself in Ijoko, the camp of the OPC, saying the men tortured him before taking him inside a clinic where his wife had been admitted.

“In one of the rooms, I saw my wife on the bed. Her legs were swollen and there was blood all over the place. I asked her why she left the house and what I did wrong.

“While talking to her, my in-laws started beating me. I have never suffered such torture. I told my wife right there that God would judge our matter,” he added.

He said he sneaked into the clinic’s toilet where he made a call to a church leader informing him of his location, adding that the latter informed the police who stormed the area and rescued him was learnt that Omolade died the following day.

The church leadership was reported to have sent a delegation to condole with the family, and Omoniyi also accompanied the men.

It was learnt that the deceased’s family allegedly attacked the group, insisting that Omoniyi must take his wife’s corpse with him.

“To appease them, I told them to find where they would bury her and I would bear part of the cost, but they refused.

“As I was leaving, they blocked the road and said they would burn the two vehicles we took there. The OPC members, who had earlier abducted me, came and dragged me to where the corpse was.

“After beating me again, they put me on the corpse and said I must die with her. They put me in a car with the corpse. I couldn’t recognise anybody until I saw some policemen who rescued me the second time,” he said.

Omoniyi said he was taken to a private hospital, adding that the location was not disclosed to protect his life. He alleged that a top police officer was also backing his in-laws, saying he had gone into hiding for security reasons.

He lamented that his wife’s family had taken away his landed property, adding that his life was in danger.

Punch correspondent learnt that the matter had already got to the CAC supreme council and the church had not been able to resolve the case as Omolade’s eldest brother was a top pastor in the church.

Punch Metro saw petitions addressed to the Inspector-General of Police, Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Area Commander, Sango-Ota, Officer-in-charge, Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Abeokuta, among others.

The petitions called for the arrest of Omoniyi’s in-laws and the OPC members for the alleged abduction and torture.

Punch correspondent was told that nothing had been done on the petitions.

Tragic! This 17 yr old teenager kills himself moments after accidentally shooting dead his friend..photo

A Labor Day with friends turned into a devastating tragedy for four high school students when one accidentally shot another, and then killed himself out of despair.

Marsavious 'Savie' Frazier was showing Daquarion Hunter, both 17, a gun as they sat by side in an alley behind their friend's home in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The gun accidentally went off and struck Hunter in the chest, causing him to drop to the ground.

Frazier immediately panicked and ran, putting the gun to his head before pulling the trigger. Both teens' bodies were found just 30 yards away from each other.

Their 17-year-old friend Armonte Tolbert, who saw the horrible incident unfold, was holding Hunter when police arrived, crying and screaming in shock.

Tolbert told police the three teens and their friend Timothy Whittaker had spent most of the day playing video games before going to their usual 'chill spot' next to the garage at his house.

The teens had set up chairs in the area and were hanging out around 9pm when Frazier revealed he was upset after seeing a woman earlier that evening.

Tolbert told police Frazier had made comments about hurting himself but that his friends were able to 'talk him down', according to the Kalamazoo Gazette .

This was apparently not unusual for Frazier, who Tolbert told police had made 'suicidal comments in the past as well'. But on that day there was 'no further concern' among the friends and Whittaker left for five minutes to walk to a nearby convenience store.

Tolbert was texting on his phone when he saw Frazier pull out a gun and begin 'playing with it'.

The teen told police he had never seen Frazier with a gun before, and did not know he had one on him until just moments before the shooting.

Whittaker was near the alley when he heard a 'pop' sound over the music coming through his headphones. Then he heard a screen and saw Hunter fall to the ground.

He then saw Frazier running toward him. The friends were only three feet apart from each other when the teen stopped and shot himself in the head, according to the police report.

Authorities added that neither of the teens had consumed alcohol or used drugs prior to the incident. Emergency responders started CPR on Frazier after feeling a faint pulse, but he could not be saved.

The friends were both pronounced dead in the alley where they had hung out together countless times before.

Dino Melaye tells Minister to slaughter cows roaming Abuja streets

The senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has asked the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, to order pastoralists out of Abuja.

Mr. Melaye made the call when the minister testified before the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory. The committee is chaired by Mr. Melaye. Mr. Melaye reminded Mr. Bello that an earlier directive issued against the activities of herdsmen within the city had been ignored and a drastic action must be taken to end the menace.

“Honourable Minister, Senate as an institution is not happy at how Fulani herdsmen continue to move their cows across the city centre, which we are aware you have given directive against that some time ago. From now, get knives and ask your men to slaughter cows found in the capital city or prosecute herdsmen seen with cows in the city centre with a fine of N50, 000 per cow. This order must be carried out,” Mr. Melaye said.

However, concerns have continued to mount about the activities of herdsmen across the FCT in recent months, as cows are always seen wandering around the city center, causing traffic gridlock and sometimes accidents.
