Teen girl allegedly held captive and raped repeatedly in Dublin city

 

Gardai are investigating a case of rape and false imprisonment that allegedly happened close to Dublin city over both Saturday and Sunday.

A man in his mid twenties was arrested and questioned by gardai after a distressed young woman in her late teens raised the alarm.

She said she had been held captive at a site near Dublin docks and repeatedly raped.
Gardai investigating the case later arrested a suspect and he was questioned at Irishtown garda station before being released without charge.

A file on the case is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
