Trump Ban Inspires Wide Anger Across World

Anger and dismay, along with congratulations from Europe's far-right, rippled across the world Sunday as politicians, community leaders and even a sports star reacted to the entry ban U.S. President Donald Trump imposed on refugees and citizens of seven Muslim-majority nations.

As the realization sank in that people with dual-citizenship who live outside the targeted Mideast and African countries would be affected, condemnation mixed with concern about families with traveling members who could be prevented from returning to the United States they call home.

Olympic long-distance running champion Mo Farah — born in Somalia, citizen and knight of Britain, U.S. resident and currently training in Ethiopia — wondered how he would tell his children that "daddy might not be able to come home."

The ban, Farah said in a statement on his Facebook page, "comes from a place of ignorance and prejudice" and "seems to have made me an alien."

In Iran, director Asghar Farhadi said the ban had prompted him to skip this year's Academy Awards, where his film "The Salesman" is nominated for best foreign language film.

He condemned the "unjust conditions forced upon some of my compatriots and the citizens of the other six countries," and expressed "hope that the current situation will not give rise to further divide between nations."

Etihad Airways, the United Arab Emirates' national airline, said some of its passengers were affected by the new policies and like other major airlines, was working closely with American officials on the matter.

Leaders of Britain and Germany joined other American allies in criticizing Trump's entry ban, even as some far-right politicians expressed hope the move would inspire similar measures in Europe.

British Prime Minister Theresa May does "not agree" with Trump's order and will challenge the U.S. government if it has an adverse effect on British nationals, a spokesman said. The official comment came after May said during a meeting Saturday with Turkish leaders the decision was a matter solely for the U.S.

Her main political rival, Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, called for Trump to be banned from visiting Britain until the temporary travel restrictions are rescinded.

A petition on the British Parliament's website attracted hundreds of thousands of signatures backing its call for Trump, who has been invited to meet Queen Elizabeth II, to be barred on the basis of misogyny and vulgarity.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who has drawn fire for her government's welcoming refugee policies, also regretted the ban.

Merkel raised the issue during a phone call with Trump Saturday, citing the 1951 Geneva Refugee Convention that calls on signatories to take in people fleeing war, spokesman Steffen Seibert said.

"She is convinced that even the necessary, resolute fight against terrorism doesn't justify putting people of a particular origin or particular faith under general suspicion," Seibert said.

He said Germany's government "will now examine what consequences the U.S. government's measures have for German citizens with dual citizenship and, if necessary, represent their interests toward our American partners."

The order Trump issued Friday includes a 90-day ban on travel to the U.S. by citizens of Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen, and a 120-day suspension of the U.S. refugee program.

Shocking! Donald Trump's executive order affects Nigerians... Na wa o!

So for those Nigerians who are used to renewing their visas via drop box, where you send your Passport via mail and collect it via mail, and don't have to do any interviews again after you've been given a US Visa, that has stopped under Donald Trump's administration. Whether you've visited the US one million times before or not, under this new immigration policy, once your visa expires, you have to go do an interview at the embassy again. Read the report below...
In an executive order signed on (Jan. 27), US president Donald Trump instructed the State Department to immediately suspend the US’s Visa Interview Waiver Program.
It’s an interesting action by a president who has made trade a central tenet of his policy platform, since it could, in the short term, inconvenience many frequent visitors to the US (and even dissuade them from visiting) by forcing them to have a face-to-face interview with a US consular officer every time their visa expires rather than simply dropping off their passport at a consulate.

Suspending the program could wreak havoc on US consular operations around the world that handle frequent visits from travelers seeking short term visas. The Visa Interview Waiver Program allows travelers to renew travel authorizations without an in-person interview.

The action is not expected to have any effect on the widely popular Visa Waiver Program, familiar to many by its front-line system, ESTA. That program allows nationals of 38 countries—including much of Europe—to enter the US without securing a visa at a consulate first.

A State department spokesman could not immediately confirm the precise effects of suspending this program, but said that it would announce any changes affecting travelers to the US as soon as possible.

Two UK-based women who had kids for same man hang out together

Two Nigerian ladies, Bunmi Ajai Layode and Mo Abatan, both resident in the United Kingdom, have proven that women don't have to be rivals just because they had been with same man, especially if the man in question turned out to be irresponsible.

Yesterday, the women and the children they had with their ex, Dafe, went out together.

Read how Bunmi chronicled their meeting:

"Mo Abatan and I hung out yesterday with our kids who happen to be siblings. I met Seyifunmi when she was around 5 or so... and even then, her dad was not taking his responsibilities up with her. Every birthday card or gift was by me. Every visit to her was at my insistence.
Mo and I remained friends and talk on the phone from time to time. She is a good person and an amazing friend. Even after I left Dafe, we still kept in touch. We determined that the two siblings would not turn out irresponsible like their Dad. Seyifunmi and Tobi met maybe once on one of the rare occasions that their father agreed to have them spend holidays with him.
Dupe and I have been planning that the kids should hang out more and yesterday, we made it happen.
But this is the thing - even though there is very little physical resemblance, (Seyifunmi is Dafe's spitting image and Tobi is Jopa's spitting image), their bahaviours are very similar! Both are very body conscious. They watch what they eat and are very slim and both have very quick comebacks to anything you say to them. Lol. The body image, maybe they get it from Dafe who is quite vain but the intelligence to be able to come up with quick comebacks is defo not from him.
People can't understand how and why Mo and I can be good friends. They say we are rivals. I say we are not. He was not dating us at the same time. The Bisola he dated at the same time with me sef, I also became friends with her. I think Dafe knows how to choose good women. Women don't have to be wounding each other over men."

Only 40 Super-Rich Nigerians Pay Their Correct Tax

A government report commissioned by the Federal Inland Revenue Service and the Joint Tax Board has found that only 40 super-rich Nigerians pay correct tax on their income.
“With the assistance of international asset tracing professionals, the government has already identified that the number of potential tax defaulters is significant.”

A very reliable source in government told Punch during the week that the report was prepared from tax data collected from the 36 states of the federation and Abuja.

The source, a senior public servant, said the findings of the FIRS would influence the fashioning of a new tax amnesty programme to be launched by the Federal Government later this year. Additional findings also revealed that government would soon go after super-rich tax defaulters whose lavish lifestyles do not correlate with the small taxes that they pay annually.

A senior government official told Punch during the week that “in the process of tracing stolen funds, it has become apparent that a significant number of Nigerians have assets and fund lifestyles that are not consistent with their income as declared on their tax returns.

The tax report entitled, ‘List of individual taxpayers that paid N10m and above in 2016’, was prepared on January 24, 2017. The document was commissioned to examine the tax compliance of Nigerians who are “High Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs).”

For the purpose of the exercise, HNIs were defined as Nigerians who must have paid direct assessment tax of at least N10m in 2016 and, thus, were assumed to have made at least N40m and above in income in the same year.

The source said the main implication of the report was that most of the country’s rich and super-rich do not pay correct tax.

“Of course, there are more than 40 people who earn more than N40m in Nigeria in 2016. The rich are not paying. It is the reason tax is just six pe cent of our GDP,” the source said.

Most HNIs are playing games with the system. They pay tax only on their salaries, which is just a fraction of their income and hide the rest. Where are all the big names that make hundreds of millions and billions every year?” the source asked.

Wahala dey o! Donald Trump To Ban 2-Year Multiple Entry Visa For Nigerians

Except the federal government of Nigeria takes a proactive visa policy review, Nigerians will no longer be issued with American entry visas which have two-year validity following the Executive Order signed on Friday by President Donald Trump.

Also, Nigerians who hold dual nationality will be affected if their other passport is from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen – the seven Muslim-majority countries “of concern”.

A lot of attention has been on the temporary visa ban on citizens of the seven Muslim-majority countries, but the impact on Nigerians is far more than previously thought.

An analysis of the Executive Order by The Cable editors shows that at least two sections will affect Nigerians directly.

Nigeria currently only issues a one-year multiple-entry visa to Americans, which is a non-reciprocation of the two-year visa the country issues to Nigerians.

Section 9 of the Executive Order states: “The Secretary of State shall review all nonimmigrant visa reciprocity agreements to ensure that they are, with respect to each visa classification, truly reciprocal insofar as practicable with respect to validity period and fees, as required by sections 221(c) and 281 of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1201(c) and 1351, and other treatment. If a country does not treat United States nationals seeking nonimmigrant visas in a reciprocal manner, the Secretary of State shall adjust the visa validity period, fee schedule, or other treatment to match the treatment of United States nationals by the foreign country, to the extent practicable…”

By this provision, except the federal government quickly moves to extend the validity of Nigerian visa to Americans, Nigerians too will be issued with one-year visas.

Given that the Trump order takes immediate effect, Nigerians holding valid two-year US visa are most likely going to be affected.

Nigeria is also not reciprocating the fees charged by the American government — despite shorter visa validity.

While the US charges Nigerians $160 for a typical visit visa, Nigeria charges $180, in addition to a $35 “processing fee”.

The section on dual nationality involving seven Muslim-majority countries is not expected to affect a significant number of Nigerians because of a second citizenship of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen is not common.

Many Nigerians, including government officials, hold dual nationality with either the US or Europe.

However, Nigerians who have been to Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen in recent times may be subjected to extra immigration control with possible deportation.

OMG!!!! See 6 Sets of People Who are Praying for Buhari to Die and Their Shocking Reasons

Image result for images of buhari
A Nigerian writer has penned down an interesting piece concerning the constant death rumours trailing President Muhammadu Buhari.
The rumour mongers and conspiracy theorists have been very busy since Mr. Presdent travelled for his annual vacation.
Some proclaimed him dead, to some he is in a vegetative state; then to the most ridiculous set, who claim he had been buried in London according to the Islamic rites, clap for yourselves.
However, having combed the internet and listened to people’s conversations in the streets regarding Mr. President rumoured death, I have been able to pick out different sets of people who never wished that Mr. President comes back to the Country alive and their weird reasons for wanting him dead.
1. IPOB Youth:
These people earnestly want Buhari Dead as soon as possible for daring to order the arrest of their Leader who is being tried for treason. Having discovered that Nnamdi has a very little chance of making out of the prison alive if convicted, they feel that Buhari instant death, would be reprived for their incarcerated leader.
2. The Corrupt:

Another group who wish, Mr. President Doesnt come back alive, are those presently undergoing trials in different courts for looting our common patrimony. To these set, if God ganted their prayers, And Buhari, somehow died, there would be no longer the Will to continue their trials in the courts.
3. Those Who Lost Elections in 2015:
These set of people have refused to let bygone be bygone. They always feel they can turn back the hand of the clock.
They never imagined that a FULANI MAN let alone Buhari will Become their president one day. They started, their hate campaign immediately the President was sworn in. So Buhari’s death to them, would soothe their wailing hearts.
4. The Religious Bigots:
Remember, from time immemorial Fulani Herdsmen have been killing and destroying people’s properties across the country.
But this time around, the reportage is different by a section of the media and religious bloggers. They scoop the internet to bring up some old war pictures from Uganda and Rwanda and tag them Fulani killings to stir up emotions in order to push further their hatred for BUHARI.
5. Fake Prophets:
A lot of fake pastors and political prophets in a bid to retain memberships had predicated the Death of Buhari, Since their prophesies on his election did not come to pass. So some of them believed since he is already 74 and given the stress of office….he will likely die hence their prayers for his death.
6. The Boko Haram Members and Supporters:
These group are not with Mr. President, for daring to confront and clearing them off their evil activities in North East. Consequently the only person Shekau and his supporters want dead immediately is President Buhari.

YOU ARE 419!!! Kemi Olunloyo Blast Actress Georgina Onuoha And Accuse her Of Duping Governor $10m

$10m bailout funds scandal: Controversial former Governor’s daughter, Kemi Olunloyo tells U.S-based Nigerian actress, Georgina Onuoha, to come out to clear her name.
Earlier today, we reported that a Nigerian governor is under probe after the sum of $10 million he diverted from the bailout funds allocated to his state was hijacked by his US-based mistress.
The governor was said to have commissioned his mistress to help him launder the said sum only for the latter to refuse to remit it in the slush accounts the governor provided.
In a new development, Kemi Olunloyo, who is the controversial daughter of former governor of Oyo State, Victor Omololu Olunloyo, has taken to her Instagram and accused U.S-based Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha, of being responsible for the fraud, adding that she should come out to clear her name.

Photo of Loverboy Arrested After Promising 5 Women Marriage

A 29-year old man, Chukwuemeka Obodozie who was involved in a marriage fraud and used it to obtain money by tricks from five different women has landed in more trouble after he absconded from court where he's expected to face trial in Lagos.

The court has declared him wanted while his in-law, Jude Iheruo, who stood as surety for him at the Magistrate’s court sitting in Ejigbo, has been arrested and remanded in prison.

Iheruo was arrested and arraigned in court on Friday for failing to produce Chukwuemeka the lover oy in court as he had earlier promised and enter into N50,000 bond in the court before the suspect was released to him.

According to PM Express, so far, five women have showed up and narrated on how Chukwuemeka promised them marriage at almost the same time, obtained huge sums of money from them and dumped all of them when he was discovered to be a scammer and later disappeared.

One of the women (name withheld) reported the matter to the police.

Chukwuemeka was arrested and charged before the court with fraud.

The ‘lover boy’ was granted bail but remanded in prison custody before Iheruo went to the court and stood as his surety. But he later jumped bail, thus when he repeatedly refused to appear in court, the court then ordered the arrest of Iheruo who had promised to produce Chukwuemekae when required to face trial.

At the court on Friday, Iheruo said that since he is married to Chukwuemeka's sister, when he was arrested and charged to court, he felt obliged to stand as one of the sureties because he was his in-law.

He said when Chukwuemeka was released from custody and the matter was adjourned severally for trial, he later traveled out of Lagos.

He lamented that whenever he called him on phone, he mostly shun his calls and whenever he picked, he will asked him to go and sort out himself as he was no longer ready to face any trial.

Unfortunately, Iheruo was charged with an act of intentional showing disrespect to the court by failing to produce Chukwuemeka in court after entering into a bond as fit and suitable person to stand as surety for the suspect.

He pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs J.O.E. Adeyemi granted him bail and surety in like sum. He was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

Omg! Girl Who Sheds Her Skin Every Six Weeks Thrown Out Of School

A teenager who sheds her skin every six weeks due to a rare condition that dries it out has been thrown out of school because classmates are scared of her.

Shalini Yadav, 16, suffers from Erythroderma, an inflammatory skin disease also known as 'red man syndrome', which doctors are unable to treat.

She needs to soak her body in water every hour and smear it in moisturiser every three hours to prevent it from seizing up and flaking off.
But her family of eight cannot afford the cream and she has shed her skin every 45 days since she was born.

And she has now been thrown out of school because the other children are scared of her because of her snake-like appearance.

Her desperate mother Devkunwar said: 'Shalini is suffering from the disease since childhood.

'We saw several doctors but none of them could cure her and her condition has continued to get worse.

'I feel so helpless when I see her skin coming off, causing excruciating pain to my child.

'This disease is not killing her but taking her life bit by bit. We have no idea where to go to and who to consult.'

Devkunwar, a care-giver in a state-funded community centre, is so heart-broken she says death would be kinder to her daughter.

She added: 'It is better to die than living a life of misery.'

Shalini's two siblings Sejal, 15, and Price, eight, are normal with no such complication.

Her father Rajbahadur, a daily wage worker, said: 'It's really sad because she was not born normally and has scaly skin all over her body.

'It is similar to being severely burnt, from the sole of her feet to her head.'

Shalini said: 'I wanted to study but they threw me out of school as the children would get scared by seeing my face.

'Everybody in the family is suffering because of my medical condition.

'But what is my fault? What sin did I commit to be cursed with such a disease. I want to live.

'Please help me, if you can.'

Mom Who R*ped Daughter's 13-Year-Old Boyfriend Walks FREE From Court

A woman raped her daughter’s 13-year-old boyfriend in a car after he sneaked out of his home in the middle of the night to meet her.

Elaine Goodman, 46, said she was "truly, truly hurt" by what she had done after pleading guilty to the charges.

But she walked free from court after her lawyer said putting her behind bars was not the answer.

James Liguor told the judge his client was sorry and "hurt to the core by how much she hurt so many people".

Goodman was arrested and charged with fourth-degree rape after Smyrna police received a report claiming the woman had sex with a minor.

The boy had snuck out of his home early morning on March 15, 2015, to meet with Goodman around 1am until 4:30am where they engaged in intimate acts inside her car.

The boy at one point told the Children’s Advocacy Center that Goodman kissed him and undressed before they had sex.

Police recovered DNA evidence from Goodman’s vehicle, clothing and the cell phone she used to communicate with the boy.

Goodman wept in court, acknowledging that her actions “hurt people,” which was “terrible.”
"I know sorry is just a word, but I really am," she said.

Deputy Attorney General Denise Weeks-Tappan said the mother only thought about herself without considering the boy’s well-being.

“The crime has affected the victim in many ways,” Weeks-Tappan said. “He's hurt, embarrassed and it is affecting his schooling.”

She was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to attend sexual disorder counseling and to be registered as a sex offender.

Update! Immigrants And Refugees Left Stranded At Airports After Trump’s Ban On Muslims

President Donald Trump's order to restrict people from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States sparked confusion and anger on Saturday after immigrants and refugees were kept off flights and left stranded in airports.

In his most sweeping decision since taking office a week ago, Trump, a Republican, put a four-month hold on allowing refugees into the United States and temporarily barred travelers from Syria and six other countries.

Civil rights and faith groups, activists and Democratic politicians were furious and vowed to fight the order.

Capping a day of confusion and chaos and protests in several airports across the country, a federal judge in Brooklyn, New York, granted a temporary reprieve. The American Civil Liberties Union successfully argued for a temporary stay that allowed detained travelers to stay in the United States.

Supporters outside the Brooklyn courtroom and at protests at airports in Dallas, Chicago, New York and elsewhere cheered the decision, but a bigger fight lay ahead.

The court action does not reverse Trump's order, which was criticized by some of America's closest allies.

Trump, a businessman who successfully tapped into American fears about terror attacks during his campaign, had promised what he called "extreme vetting" of immigrants and refugees from areas the White House said the U.S. Congress deemed to be high risk.

He told reporters in the White House's Oval Office on Saturday that his order was "not a Muslim ban" and said the measures were long overdue.

"It's working out very nicely. You see it at the airports, you see it all over," Trump said.

Along with Syria, the ban affects travelers with passports from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

The Department of Homeland Security said about 375 travelers had been affected by the order, 109 of whom were in transit and were denied entry to the United States. Another 173 were stopped by airlines before boarding.
