Woman who paid $100,000 for R. Kelly's bond wants her money back

Woman who paid $100,000 for R. KellyThe woman who posted the $100,000 bond for R. Kelly following his arrest on 10 counts of aggravated criminal s3xual abuse is asking for her money back since the R&B singer has been indicted.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a Cook County judge ruled on Tuesday, September 17, that Valencia Love won't get her money back.

This comes after Kelly was indicted on 18 counts, including child pornography production, obstruction of justice, and receipt of child pornography, by federal prosecutors in New York and Chicago on July 11, 2019.

Love, who owns a Chicago-based childcare facility called the Lord and Child Christian Day Care and several restaurants, claimed to be a "friend" of R.Kelly when she gave four installments of $25,000 in order to get him out of Cook County State jail after he turned himself in.

After the news broke, that she posted R.Kelly's bond she began to experience challenges at her restaurants as people began to boycott her businesses.

In her attempt to justify posting the singer's bond, Love maintained his innocence, saying, "Let him have his chance in court to prove if he's innocent or guilty. As a friend, if he says he's innocent, I can only believe that he is innocent."

R.Kelly is also facing additional charges regarding sex abuse and racketeering cases in other jurisdictions, including New York and Minnesota. His Chicago trial will begin on April 27, 2020.
