Shockwaves are reverberating across Yorùbáland and the global Yorùbá diaspora following the sudden death of the Baba Ọba (King’s Father) of the famed Oyotunji African Village in South Carolina, USA. The late Baba Ọba, Lukman Arohunfale, a revered socialite and traditionalist, passed away under circumstances already sparking fierce controversy. His death comes just days after he publicly accused the newly installed Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty Oba Akeem Adéyẹmọ Owoade, of allegedly ordering his courtiers to beat him mercilessly during a recent courtesy visit to the Oyo palace in Nigeria. Dejo Tunfulu, daughter and wife during daughter’s wedding Popular comic actor Dejo Tunfulu gave out her teenage daughter Sammyhat Pamilerin Adetokunbo hands out in marriage to an equally young man Ahmed Babatunde Oladele popularly known as Danku Malaysia.

Dejo’s daughter Pamilerin and husband Ahmed during traditional wedding Pamilerin is said to be 17 year-old while Ahmed is in his early 20s. Ahmed has already put Pamilerin in the family way and this necessitated the early marriage so she will not have the child out of wedlock. 


The couple during nikkai The wedding was held on Saturday, May 28 at a secondary school beside the defunct Concord newspaper, Airport.

The bride’s mother is late and thus was represented by the newly married wife of her father during the Nikkai and traditional wedding. Veteran actress Mama Rainbow and actor Mutiu Adeoye Also known as Kunle Mac Tokunbo, Dejo remarried after the death of her first wife in 2012 on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
The wedding was witnessed by fellow Yoruba actors Mama Rainbow, Ajirebi popularly known as Pa James of Papa Ajasco fame, Mutiu Adeoye, Abiodun Oropo among others.
