Bruxelles Nord train station in Brussels, Belgium was evacuated today following a bomb scare while two police men in another part of Brussels were stabbed by a man armed with a Swiss army knife in what security experts believe to be two suspected terror scares in different parts of the city.
The train station was emptied after police received a call warning of a bomb threat while the man who stabbed the policeman was shot in the leg as he tried to flee the scene.
A station spokesman said:
“A message of an alleged bomb threat was sent to the police, all the people were evacuated from the station, the trains have stopped. This will continue until security services inspect the station, minimum an hour.”
Eric Van Der Sypt, a spokesman for the Belgian federal prosecutor’s office, told AFP: “We have elements to believe that the incident was a terrorist attack.”
