The Lagos State Special Committee on the Clean Up of Lekki, Victoria
Island and Ikoyi says it has served contravention notices on owners of illegal structures, abandoned buildings and workshops along highways in the areas.
The Chairman of the committee, who is also the Secretary to the State
Government, Tunji Bello, on Sunday, stated that serving the notices was
preparatory to the commencement of enforcement on the affected
structures from Monday (today).
He explained that the enforcement exercise would focus on the major
roads till the end of December after which the team would move to inner
streets in the areas.
Bello said, “On Monday (today), we will operate on Babatunde Dabiri
Street, Admiralty Road, Fola Osibo Street, Omorinre Johnson Street,
Hakeem Dickson Street and Ogbunike Street, among others in the Lekki
area.”
