'Sex For Rent' Now Trending In Part Of England

Rogue landlords are exploiting vulnerable people by offering free accommodation in exchange for sex, charities have warned.

They say the deals take advantage of those unable to afford spiralling rents and 'go as close to the edge of the law … without breaking [it]'.

Websites hosting adverts for such offers are being urged to tackle the problem.

As young people and the low-paid are priced out of accommodation, particularly in south-east England, 'sex for rent' adverts have sprung up online.

One classified advertising site, Craigslist, carried more than 100 such listings in a single day, a BBC investigation found.

A female student who answered one of them said she felt it was her only option.

She added: 'He took me into his living room, got me drinks, and then after that it was just straight upstairs … He would do what he wanted, forcefully, and I just sort of went along with it.'

Labour MP Peter Kyle said classified websites should stop allowing the adverts or Parliament should intervene.

'If [websites] don't stand up to this and then accept their responsibility, I will be pushing for legislation to do it for them,' he said.

A string of charities have backed his calls for a crackdown.

Mel Potter, of the Brighton Oasis Project for women, said: 'It's something that potentially can trap someone and put them at risk of violence and abuse.'

Authorities discover Nigerian drug syndicate, nine facing death sentences in Indonesia

Indonesian authorities on Wednesday April 12, said it has discovered a Nigerian drug syndicate following the arrest of a German citizen at the airport by the National Anti Narcotics Agency.

The German citizen identified only by the initials CG was detained on April 3, by customs officers after arriving at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta.
Officers noticed something was off when CG’s baggage went through screening. They found 2.65 kilograms of methamphetamine in one of his bags.
"According to information received by officers, CG admitted that he carried 2.65 kilograms of meth under the order of a Nigerian suspect identified only by the initial A. This Nigerian suspect ordered CG to stay in West Jakarta because he would order someone to meet him there," explained Erwin Situmorang, head of Soekarno-Hatta International airport customs office.
Customs officers are partnering with local police to investigate the matter further. Local police took CG to the hotel in West Jakarta and arrested the Nigerian(PICTURED)  identified only by the initials IH, who was supposed to take the meth from CG. The man claimed that he was ordered to do so by A.

However, the case did not end after police arrested IH. After further investigation, they also arrested a local citizen (with the initials RS) on April 4, 2017. Similar to previous suspects, RS also admitted that she was following orders from someone in Nigeria via Facebook. RS and another unnamed local suspect were to distribute the meth in 100-gram packages each.

These packages were to be sold in West Jakarta and according to one of the suspects, there are more people involved in the business. Martua Raja Silitonga, commissary police and head unit of resort police in Soekarno-Hatta international Airport mentioned that a felon from Salemba prison (with the initial R) is allegedly overseeing the syndicate’s activities from behind bars. Additionally, he mentioned that R planned to also sell the meth to his spouse’s sibling.

So far, police have identified 14 people involved, nine of whom are still suspects while five of wom were convicted in the past and are currently serving prison sentences.
"Normally drug couriers come from Malaysia or Hong Kong, while CG came from Doha,” said Situmorang to reporters.
Additionally, these suspects are to face law number 35 of 2009 regarding narcotics, with possible death sentences and a Rp.10 billion (US$750,000) fine.

See the woman who hired assassins to kill her cheating husband

A 48-year-old woman, Doreen Kumar has been accused of hiring contract killers to murder her 54-year-old husband whom she saw as a “serial philanderer”. She paid them Rs 2 lakh upfront and offered a further Rs 28 lakh after the killing.

Kumar, a resident of Jogupalya in Halasuru, India, has been arrested, along with four suspected assassins, for the gruesome murder of her moneylender husband, G Kumar.

The victim was found murdered near the railway track close to the Kalapalli cemetery in Baiyappanahalli, east Bengaluru, on April 6, 2017.

According to the police, Doreen, was disgusted with her husband’s “philandering ways”. Kumar would sexually exploit women borrowers when they defaulted on loan repayment. He would bring random women into his house and seek sexual favours from them.

His womanising had been going on for several years now. Doreen knew it all but had kept quiet. But she could not tolerate it any more and decided to eliminate her husband. But taking out a man of Kumar’s size was a knotty question.

She came across one of her husband’s customers, a man named Sridhar who had borrowed Rs 5 lakh from him and was struggling to repay it. She got close to him and confided in him. She offered him Rs 30 lakh for the job, besides waiving the loan. She paid him Rs 2 lakh upfront.

Sridhar, police say, roped in four of his friends — Prabhu (35), Patrick (25), Dinesh (29) and Avinash (30) — who all had criminal record. He got a woman named Clara to get Kumar to the crime spot.

Clara hired another woman, Revathi, for the job. Revathi called up Kumar and introduced herself as Lakshmi. She called him to the railway track on the pretext of taking a loan to pay her four children’s school fees.

Kumar walked into the trap. As soon as he turned up, the assassins hacked him with sharp weapons. Interestingly, Doreen herself went to the jurisdictional Baiyappanahalli police station and lodged a complaint. As police got to work, they checked Kumar’s call detail record and found that the last caller was Clara.

They picked her up for questioning. Clara led them to Dinesh. He couldn’t withstand sustained interrogation and spilled the beans. He told the police that he, along with Avinash and Patrick, had attacked Kumar at the behest of Sridhar and Prabhu. Police picked up Doreen soon afterwards.

A senior police officer suspected that Sridhar and Doreen were planning a “life together” once Kumar was eliminated. Police have seized Rs 1.4 lakh in cash from the suspects. Avinash is absconding while Clara and Revathi are under surveillance.

Police are still investigating whether the women were part of the murder conspiracy.

Wow! Couple leaves waitress $400 tip, and another $10,000 to pay off her student loans

A Hawaiian waitress, 21 year old Cayla Chandara who waits tables at two different restaurants, pulling double shifts just to make ends meet, got the gift of a lifetime from a very generous couple.
While working last week, at the Noi Thai Cuisine, she struck a conversation with a couple from Australia who asked her why she moved to Hawaii.

She told them she  moved to Waikiki, Hawaii, from Santa Rosa, California, for College, telling them how she was working two jobs; one at the Waikiki hotspot Noi Thai Cuisine, and the other at the Cheesecake Factory.

She told them that she had dropped out of college due to heavy student loans and the high cost of living in the state, adding that she was hoping to save up enough money so she could return to school one day.
She said:
“They asked me where I was from, and I told them I moved here for school, but I was kind of in a little bit of debt and I couldn’t go back to school because I couldn’t afford it and the cost of living here,”
The waitress thought the customers  were just being polite by asking her questions. But as she cleared their table and collected their $200 tab at the end of the night, she got the shock of her life. They had left her a tip of $400 which was double their bill.
“I was then at a loss for words and all I wanted to do was hug them,” Chandara told CBS News.
Chandara recalled where the couple said they were staying, and decided she would go by there after her shift to thank them properly.
“I genuinely wanted to say thank you,” Chandara said. “I sent a thank you letter saying how much it meant to me.”
She left it at the hotel’s front desk and left, never expecting to see the tourists again.

The next night, the couple returned to the restaurant. and told Chandara they would like to give her $10,000 to pay off her student loans and to contribute to her continuing her college education.

Chandara was at a loss for words.
“I initially told them I couldn’t take that offer, but they insisted that it would be just as great for them to do it for me,” Chandara said.
“I was like, ‘No way, you don’t have to do that for me. I just wanted to say thank you,'” Chandara said.
“I still don’t feel like it’s real. I want to run around in the streets.”
Chandara told the generous tourists, who wish to remain anonymous, that she will go back to school in the fall to study Liberal Arts and Business. She asked how she could ever repay them.
“They told me the best way to thank them is to be my best possible self, dream big and strive for my goals,” Chandara said.
“I want to make them proud. I will take this opportunity with an open heart and be a better person that I can be every day,” Chandara said.

Someone asked me why the title "On Becoming". The Holy Spirit gave me that name. I remember thinking of a name for this project and when I got "OnBecoming..." i wasn't quite sure why or what it meant in totality but on a flight to Houston yesterday it hit me, I am a work in progress, no full stop till I'm gone. I am unfinished, incomplete, the story is stil being written, the race is long and God has given me purpose. The last few years of my life hasn't been the easiest but thru it all I have grown, I am becoming. I've heard people say " are you the only one to go thru tough times" and my response remains the same. - what did you do with what you went thru? How did you help someone else grow thru your struggle, the purpose is always bigger than the pain, did you learn all you have to keep it to yourself?

It's ok not to get the vision, it is not for everyone. I feel Empowered, I feel chosen, and again the lord has sent me on another mission. Something big is coming.. #Imusthavemyown #OnBecomingEmpowered #2017mission #onbecomingbytokemakinwa

Prophet Speaks About What God Allegedly Told Him About Apostle Suleman’s S*x Scandal

Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, is the Founder and General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri. In an interview with Goldenpearlmedia, the Prophet spoke about how he had predicted the situation, saying Apostle Suleman is INNOCENT. Hear him;

What do you make of the challenges Apostle Suleiman is going through?

Jesus told his followers that whatever thing that he is passing through, his followers will also pass through same situation. They called Jesus our father names. Some said He was using Beelzebub spirit to cast out demons. It is not today that all these things started. These things started in the days of old. It is one of those things. If we are followers of Christ, these things must surely come to us. Not only him but every Christian that is growing; you would have to prepare for these things.

It is getting worse by the day, a lot of people are coming out with different stories and evidences?
I will still tell you that those allegations are not true. A man of God is a man of God. Though there are stories coming from different places. Till tomorrow I will still say that it is not true. God is still backing him up. But did you hear the one that the mother went to his church to plead for forgiveness? The body of Christ is one. This is a battle between Satan and God. Any Christian that doesn’t know this thing should go and learn more. We have to pray and fast for our Apostle.

Have you spoken with him one on one ever since these things started?

Yes. I met him today when we boarded the same flight from Benin to Lagos. I encouraged him. He is not even bothered. I asked him how he feels with this kind of persecution. He said that these things must follow us because we are people that are working in the body of Christ. As far as you are coming up and you are destroying the kingdom of satan through the name, Jesus Christ.
I saw this persecution and I told people that such a thing is coming last year December cross over. I said this thing is coming up and we have to be prayerful. Like my own case, there was an accident. I sent my boys to my village to encourage secondary school students for inter house sports two weeks ago. They went with my Hillux vehicle and on their way back, the vehicle somersaulted thrice and it was raining but glory be to God that nobody was injured.
Now, if something bad had happened to them, I would have been called names. People would say I sent them to my village, Ojobo to use them to get more power or worse things because of the rapid growth of the ministry. If you are a man of God and in the body of Christ you have to pray for other men of God who are victims of situations as this.

You spoke about the prediction that some pastors will go through persecution, can you throw more light on it?

Yes, I said scandals are coming that we should pray. I have even told my church to pray for me and I know God is in control. I said it will happen, and everybody will hear it but God is in control. That is what I told them. It is a scandal. I told them that. You can watch it. It is there. I said it in November, December and Cross over. After the Sunday I said it, on Monday, they accuse Suleman.

Did you tell Apostle Suleiman about the prediction?

I did not at that time, it was only now that we met that I told him. When the thing started I did not because many atimes, we don’t talk every second, every hour. We are always busy. Also, it is not everything you see that you talk about. We Apostles, prophets and pastors cancel them ourselves.
Have you finally decided to hold a crusade in Lagos?
I held a meeting early last month with the partners of Mercy television. We discussed. They are ready more than I do. Lagos is big. It’s a country on its own. If you don’t prepare to enter this place, you will not see any soul to win. I promise it will be in December. No date yet.

Based on what is happened to Apostle Suleman, what have you learnt from it? How have you been able to guild your own territory to avoid such situation?

The experience and what I have learnt from it is the same. We cannot dodge it. No man of God can dodge it except you are not called. Look at the histories of great men of God in Nigeria, you must hear these stories. It is by prayer and God’s mercy. As you are growing, you should prepare yourself for that. Anything can happen. That is why I advise our colleagues in the vineyard of God to pray for our other colleagues. I have read about many of these men of God. They have been accused of different things. Those things are from the kingdom of darkness. We live by God’s grace.

Should apostle Suleiman forgive Stephanie Otobo?

I told him and he said that he is a human being that if God can forgive, then who is he not to.
That is what I told my people one day that it is not by deliverance that this Stephanie needs to go through. It is by going to the man of God to plead for forgiveness before any man of God will now pray for her and everything will go well.

Omg! Lagos Policeman Kills South African Returnee Over N5m

Protesting youths at Sobo bus stop, Akowonjo, Lagos State, went on the rampage on Thursday after a mobile policeman shot dead a 23-year-old man, identified only as Niyi, aka Para.

As some operatives reportedly whisked away the killer cop in a van, the protesters resorted to violence, vandalising a hotel, shops and vehicles parked by the roadside in the area.

Punch Metro learnt that the policeman was one of the security officers attached to the hotel , Erico Bellisima Hotels , which is located some distance away from the bus stop.

A version of the story said Niyi had been at loggerheads with a friend, identified only as Santo, over a sum of N5.2m Niyi sent to him in tranches for safekeeping while he was in South Africa.

Our correspondent gathered that the deceased returned from South Africa last week to reclaim the money after he was told that Santo converted it to personal use.

Another account stated that the money was Niyi’s share of an undisclosed deal carried out by Santo on his behalf.

After failed attempts to get the sum from Santo, he was said to have reported the case to policemen at a division in the neighbourhood.

The policemen reportedly told him to alert them once he sighted Santo in the hotel, where he always stayed.

Around 7am on Thursday, Niyi and his friends reportedly visited the hotel to verify if he was there.

A resident of the area, Segun Ajayi, said Niyi was into an undisclosed Internet business, through which he realised the money.

He said, “Niyi had not been in the country for a while. He just returned last week. While he was in South Africa, he did a job and told his friend, Santo, to help him pick up some money which was about N5.2m. He told him to keep the money. But before he came back, Santo had started spending it.

“He lodged at Erico Bellisima Hotels. Niyi had been going to check him at the hotel, but the receptionist insisted Santo was not there. He and his friends went there this morning (Thursday) and confirmed Santo was there. Niyi called operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. They said they were on their way and that he should ensure Santo did not leave the premises.

“Santo sent a worker to check if Niyi and his friends were still around. They beat the worker. A policeman securing the hotel came in and instead of asking what happened, he started shooting.

He chased the men and shot Niyi in the leg; the man fell. As he was struggling to stand, he shot him in the back at a close range and he died on the spot. The policeman knew Niyi very well; he was probably aware of the N5.2m deal.”

Our correspondent, who visited the scene, observed that the blood of the victim had coagulated beside a gutter where he was reportedly felled by the bullets.

The glasses of the hotel and windscreens of five vehicles parked around the scene were shattered by an angry mob.

Three shops were also vandalised, while commercial activities in the area were suspended.

Policemen from the Area M Command, Idimu; Shasha Police Station, Rapid Response Squad and Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, were on the ground to restore normalcy.

An eyewitness, Demola Adekanbi, said, “I stayed around the hotel. I heard gunshots around 7am and ran outside. I went to the hotel to know what was happening. I found out that it was a mobile policeman at the hotel that shot a man dead. When other security men in the hotel observed that the situation was becoming riotous, they called for reinforcement.

When other policemen came around, they used tear gas to stop people from further damage of the hotel.”

A friend of the deceased, Prince Okereke, said apart from the N5m issue, Santo had reportedly hacked into Niyi’s Facebook account and used it to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

He added that the deceased’s girlfriend was just delivered of a baby.

He said, “We lived together on Ponle Street, Akowonjo. Santo hacked into Niyi’s Facebook account and requested money from some people.

“He gave them a bank account which they paid money into. When Niyi woke up this morning (Thursday), he told me he was going to the hotel to see Santo about the fraud and the N5.2m deal.

“I was still sleeping when some people came to tell me that he had been shot dead.

“Santo probably gave the mobile policeman some money to chase Niyi away. As people were protesting, some policemen came there. They sneaked the mobile policeman and Santo into a van and took them away. We are demanding justice; such a thing cannot happen and we will keep quiet.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the killing.

“The policeman is in custody and investigation is ongoing,” he added.

The PPRO promised to get back to our correspondent with details of the suspect.

He had, however, yet to do so as of press time.

Efforts to speak with the management of the hotel proved abortive as the facility was shut as of 1pm when our correspondent left the area.

Update! Court Orders Forfeiture Of Seized $43m, £27,800, N23m To FG

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of the sums of $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000, uncovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from a house in the Ikoyi area of Lagos on Wednesday to the Federal Government.

The court, in a ruling on Thursday afternoon by Justice Muslim Hassan, ordered that the funds be temporarily forfeited to the Federal Government.

The judge adjourned till May 5, 2017, for anyone interested in the funds to show up before him to show cause why the money should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government. The judge made the forfeiture order shortly after entertaining an ex parte application by a counsel for the EFCC, Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo.

The EFCC had, on Wednesday evening, raided Flat 7B No. 16 Osborne Road, Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, where it uncovered $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000 kept in iron cabinets and ‘Ghana must go’ sacks in the said apartment which were under security locks.

Moving the ex parte application for the interim forfeiture of the money, Oyedepo told the court that no one had come forward to claim it, adding that the staff of one AM Facilities, managing the apartment where the huge sums were found, could not provide the anti-graft agency with information on the possible owner of the money.

He urged the judge to exercise the power conferred on him by Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and other related Offences Act to order the interim forfeiture of the money to the Federal Government.

Oyedepo stated, “We received an intelligence that No.16 Osborne Road, Osborne Towers, Flat 7B, had in it various sums of money that we are seeking to forfeit.

“The intelligence was acted upon and on getting there, we executed Exhibited EFCC1, which is a search warrant. As God would have it sir, we were able to recover $43, 449,947. Still in the same flat, we also recovered £27,800. That was not all, we were also able to recover N23,218,000.

“For security reasons and because of the volume, we did not want to bring the money before My Lord but we have registered it as an exhibit with the exhibit keeper and the evidence is contained in Exhibit EFCC 04.

“Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and other fraud related Offences Act empower My Lord, where a property is found to be an unclaimed property or where a property is found to be proceeds of an unlawful activity, to forfeit such property in the interim.”

He pointed the judge’s attention to a portion of the court papers where the commission had stated under oath that “no one had approached the commission to claim the said money with reasonable evidence confirming the genuineness of the origin of the money that we are seeking to forfeit in the interim.”

He added, “I, therefore, humbly and most respectfully urge My Lord to forfeit this money to the Federal Government pending when anyone, who has the mind, come and claim the money.”

After listening to him, Justice Hassan, in a short ruling, said in view of the facts placed before him, he was “mindful of granting the interim relief sought” by the EFCC.

He also granted the anti-graft agency’s prayer to advertise or publish the interim forfeiture order in any national newspaper for any concerned party to see it.

He adjourned till May 5, 2017, for such a person to come before him to give reasons why money should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.

See The Benenoise Houseboy Who Stole N21m From Employer’s Bedroom In Oyo State

A house help from the Republic of Benin, Mathew Kudjo, has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for allegedly stealing $59,000 and other sums of money in local and foreign currencies, totalling N21,395,000.

The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude, who paraded the suspect at the state command headquarters in Ibadan, the state capital, said Kudjo planned to abscond to the United States, adding that he was caught in the process of leaving the country.

Odude explained that Kodjo had already built a house in his home country from the proceeds of the crime.

The commissioner said, “A Beninoise chef has been nabbed in his criminal hideout in Ibadan by operatives of the Special Anti-robbery Squad of the command after stealing a large sum of money from his employer.

“The suspect on February 12, 2017 betrayed the trust and confidence reposed in him by his benevolent master by breaking into the man’s apartment in the Ikolaba area of Ibadan, where he stole the sums of $59,000, N3.4m and other foreign currencies. After successfully carrying out the criminal act, the suspect perfected his sinister plan to abscond abroad with the loot. But through intensive investigation and high level intelligence, he was nabbed before he could escape to the US, having procured a visa.”
