The late Baba Ọba, Lukman Arohunfale, a revered socialite and traditionalist, passed away under circumstances already sparking fierce controversy. The teens aged 13 and 14, were kidnapped in the early hours of Thursday, 1st February, along Woji Port Harcourt.
The Anti-Kidnap Unit of the command led by SP Shadane Edward, acting on a tip off traced the suspects to a hideout, where they engaged them in a gun battle.
Unconfirmed number of suspects were shot dead while others escaped.
Meanwhile effort are on going with the view to arrest fleeing culprits.
Police recovered locally made guns from the scenes.
