Suspected child traffickers nabbed by vigilante group in Ebonyi

Suspected child traffickers nabbed by vigilante group in EbonyiTwo suspected child traffickers, were apprehended by operatives of the Ebonyi State Neighbourhood Watch after a stalled abduction mission. 

The suspects identified as Sunday Chukwuma from Isu community in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, and Nkiruka Okpara, an indigene of the Ahiazu Mbaise community of Imo State, colluded to steal a one-year-old baby from the mother, one Chioma Njoku of Agbebo village. 

The plan of stealing the baby while acting like they were helping the single mother, was hatched in Port Harcourt and reportedly facilitated by Chukwuma. Punch reported that the suspects have been handed over to the Ebonyi State Police Command.  

The arrest was confirmed by the Chairman of the Onicha Local Government Area of, Ebonyi State, Felix Igboke, who commended the vigilante group.
