Amazing! This sculpture of a female Corps member made by a male Corps member is so realistic it could pass for a real human being
Facebook user, Ugochukwu Tony Oputa posted photos of a sculpture of a female Corps member who looks like a real human being. The sculpture was made by Arigbede Ojo Olaropo, a talented artist, who just completed his national youth service in Edo state."This should pass as one of the most realistic sculptures ever made around these parts. From the accurate proportion &scaling of the mold, the painting, proper shading of the highlights & mid-tones, the detailing, etc. Up until recently I still had my doubts that it’s was an actual statue, was thinking it could be a pun. This statue was made by a corp member Arigbede Ojo Olaropo, a Batch C, Stream 2 Corps member with state code ED/18C/3549, that just completed his service year at Benin City, Edo State. He is an art instructor, he is into Figure Modelling, Paper Modelling, Metal Art, Junks art, Water Fountain, Building of Tree House and lots more. 27 common scams to avoid, a must read!

You can lock your doors against burglars, but making sure you don't fall victim to a scam – even in the safety of your own home – is much less straightforward.
More than 22,000 people were scammed in 2012, according to Citizens Advice, and fraudsters are constantly inventing ways to swindle you out of your cash.

Door-to-door scams

1. Fake Green Deal sales You answer your door to be told you are entitled to £10,000 of funding for Green Deal home improvements, such as insulation or a new boiler. You are then asked to pay an administration fee.
2. Unnecessary damp proofing You are offered a free damp proofing survey. The surveyor always finds damp which needs urgent attention, quotes a high price and requests an immediate deposit.
3. Home maintenance services A trader offers you a cheap quote to pave your patio or driveway, carry out home maintenance or gardening services, or repair "unsafe" roof tiles. They demand an upfront cash payment to start or finish the job – then scarper with the money or make unreasonable charges for botched work.
4. Food sales Someone offers to sell you (inedible) fresh or frozen fish very cheaply, but only if you are prepared to pay £100s for several boxes, sight unseen.
5. Fake energy-saving gadgets You are offered a plug-in gadget at a "sale price" of £99, which the seller claims will cut your electricity use by 40%.

'Too good to be true' scams

6. Fake dates You join a dating website and are contacted by an extremely good looking potential date who lives abroad. After starting an online romance the scammer asks for money for emergency bills.
7. Council tax refunds You are told by a cold-caller that you are owed a rebate on your council tax bill or are overpaying because your property is in the wrong tax band. You are then asked to hand over your bank or credit card details so your money can be refunded.
8. Council tax discount You are told that if you start paying by direct debit you will get a discount – but first you need to pay an administration fee.
9. Dodgy job website You register your CV at a job site and quickly get a call or email from an employment agency guaranteeing you a job, but only if you first pay a fee.
10. Bogus pay cheque You are called or sent an email from someone who wants to give you a job, and offered a cheque in advance of your first payday. Cash the cheque and you'll be told you've been overpaid and must return the money via an online transfer – before the cheque bounces.

Con artist who tricked her way into the hearts of the rich and famous

Mariam Mola, whose real name is Mariam Mbula

To her admirers, among them the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite dress designer, Mariam Mola is a true inspiration.

Her tale of giving birth in prison for a fraud committed a decade ago when she was an impressionable 18-year-old appalled those who heard it  – among them influential female business leaders who flocked to give her their support.

Her story, which was shared with millions of morning television viewers, provided Miss Mola, 27, with the springboard to start a company offering business mentoring to women who were willing to pay up to £200 to attend events at glamorous locations, such as the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, London, and at Burberry’s flagship store in the capital.
Amanda Wakeley, the fashion designer, whose clothes are regularly worn by the Duchess, is a supporter of Miss Mola’s Mentor Matcher, appearing prominently on the front page of its website.
But The Daily Telegraph can disclose that Miss Mola’s claims are not all they appear to be. In fact, her real name is Mariam Mbula, who on one occasion preyed on a woman with a Down’s syndrome daughter in order to trick her family out of more than £15,000 by posing as a Foreign Office official

Mbula also uses other pseudonyms, including Nopapa Mbula and Cindy Mbula. Far from being an innocent 18-year-old caught up in a single crime perpetrated by a much older boyfriend, Mbula was a career con artist, who had been jailed not only in the UK but also in Belgium and Spain. She was also wanted on suspicion of leading a crime gang in Italy.
In total, Mbula has at least 13 convictions for 34 offences; 27 of those are for “fraud and dishonesty,” according to Det Sgt David Vint of the Metropolitan Police, who has investigated her for 18 months.

Court fines Busola Dakolo N1m, dismisses case against Fatoyinbo

A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Bwari has dismissed a suit filed by photographer, Busola Dakolo, against the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo. The court also ordered Busola to pay N1m for wasting the court’s time.In a suit, filed by Busola, wife of Musician, Timi Dakolo, in September, she had accused Fatoyinbo of rape, adding that the alleged action of the pastor, as well as his denial in a statement adversely, affected her marital sex life. She, therefore, demanded “a personal letter of apology” from the cleric to show honest remorse for his misdeeds.Fatoyinbo’s lawyer, Alex Iziyon (SAN), however, argued that the prayer could not be granted, describing it as a frivolous suit.In his ruling, Justice Oathman Musa held that the matter amounts to injustice and an abuse of judicial process adding that the case is empty and purely sentimental. Justice Musa said that the case was aimed more at cruelty than obtaining justice.

The court also awarded costs of N1m against Busola Dakolo and held that the fine should have been 10 times more because the court’s time was wasted. In her suit, which was filed on her behalf by her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi and Co of Law corridor, Mrs Dakolo asked the court to declare that Fatoyinbo’s denial of his alleged acts contained jointly and/or severally through a press statement he released on June 28, 2019, had caused her continuous emotional distress and amounted to intentional infliction of emotional distress on her.Olajengbesi said, “The claimant avers that she was immediately terrified and in shock while the defendant pinned her down on the couch following which he caressed her body, fondled her breasts, pulled her pants, quickly half-pulled his trousers and ordered her to allow him to have his way with her. “The claimant avers that the defendant in the process used his hand to cover her mouth, thereby muffling her screams. The claimant avers that the defendant made efforts to penetrate her vagina, whilst she struggled to fight him off; however, the defendant overpowered her and penetrated her vagina and had sexual intercourse with her.“The claimant avers that while she was in shock of the incident which had rendered her befuddled and mortified, the defendant rushed out of the living room area of her family home and briefly returned with a bottle of soda (Krest) which he forced down her throat thereby making her breathing difficult.”Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force says the probe into the allegation of rape against Fatoyinbo is slow because the alleged crime took place 20 years ago.The Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, said this during an interview with PUNCH.Mba said the matter was being investigated but the police would not be pushed into filing charges for the fun of it.He said once the police are done with the investigation, the public would be notified regarding the next step.

Jayde Edwards (C), a church pastor, is a Tory candidate in a Croydon council byelection.

Police are reviewing allegations of fraud and other potential offences relating to an evangelical church that claims to turn around the lives of troubled young people, but which has been accused of pressing its young members to hand over thousands in donations.

Spac Nation has previously been lauded by police for diverting young people from gang culture, but in recent days concerned parents have said it operates "like a cult". They and former members claim it encourages congregants to take out loans to fund the church.

Two mothers said this week that their children had been pressured into handing over entire student loan funds, as well as money from personal loans and loans on businesses set up with the help of pastors.
On Wednesday, the Metropolitan police said: “We have received allegations that pertain to potential fraud and other possible offences that relate to Spac Nation. Officers are reviewing the allegations to identify if any criminal offences have potentially been committed. Once this review is complete, a decision will be made as to whether a criminal investigation is launched. We cannot comment any further at this time.”

When Sola met Daniel few months ago, she had been swept off her feet especially by the calmness about him. His words were especially kind and the clincher had been how honest he had seemed about his life and his feelings for her. Watching Daniel speak on their dates, and listening to him during their numerous phone calls had made it natural for her to let down her own defenses. So she held nothing back when she spoke of her past, the demons she had, had to fight and the fragility of her peace.
