Amotekun Will Start Securing All Borders In Yorubaland To Curb Criminal Activity- Adetunji Adeleye

The leader of the Amotekun outfit, Adetunji Adeleye, has announced that the security outfit will start to secure all borders in the Yorubaland to curb the activities of criminals, especially those that specialize in kidnapping, armed robbery, and banditry.

In his words according to the BBC news Yoruba here, he says the job of the security outfit will not disrupt the duty of Nigeria's custom services. He stated in his words that Nigeria's customs officers will continue to do their job while the Amotekun will only secure the borders from any usurpers.

According to Adetunji, those Amotekun who will be stationed within the town will be stationed at every road junction, especially where the roads are bad because they have discovered that criminals are mostly targeting vehicles that slow down at any bad portion to attack them.

In his words, the law that the South governors recently signed prohibiting open grazing has improved farming because herdsmen are refraining from harming farmers and destroying their crops.

He said it is so surprising to note that the herdsmen who destroy farm crops are even ready to pay ransom to the farmers in many Yoruba communities and the Southern part of Nigeria in general.

According to him, Amotekun's job will be easier this period because the Amotekun in Oyo state and that of Osun state will be working together, while those in Ekiti will be working together with those in the Ondo axis and that is how their work is going to be.

He added to his words that the state governors in the Yorubalands have provided enough vehicles for them, that will aid the movement from one place to another.

He concluded that everyone should be at ease because Yorubaland will be free of crime as a result of the support they have received from all of the governors.
