KPLC Announces a Very Long Electricity Blackout on Monday, June 21, Check if You Will be Affected

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company has scheduled a long electricity blackout on Monday, June 21, which will affect very many parts of the country.

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company is on the spot over what residents has termed as recklessness. In one case, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company is on the spot for having a power transformer installed outside a school in Zimmerman. The transformer is too low from the ground which has now raised fear that it is a danger to the lives of the school kids.

The kids of Sports View school usually play below this transformer which has forced the school management and the residents of the area to call upon the Kenya Power and Lighting Company to go and properly fence the area around the transformer in order to safeguard the lives of the children.

Elsewhere, a kid has died after a power pole fell on her. Those who witnessed explained to a local TV station that they had warned the Kenya Power and Lighting Company officials to repair the power pole before the tragedy struck.

Those who spoke to the media explained that the kid die after the Kenya Power pole fell on her, broke her back bone, arm and her legs. Reports reveals that the fallen pole had broken support cables which hold the power poles in position. The tragedy would have been more worse if live cables fell on people or children.

Parents of the children now says that they will pursue justice for their child saying that it is Kenya Power’s recklessness that resulted to the death of their kid. Sadly several people had been arrested after they tried demonstrating following the death of the girl.

Turning to the power interruption updates, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company has scheduled a long interruption of electricity on Monday, 21st June in different parts of the country. The outage will allow the Kenya Power and Lighting Company's engineers to carry out network maintenance and repairs. The interruption will be long and will affect the following areas.
