BREAKING: Baba Ọba of Oyotunji Village Dies Suddenly Amid Controversy with New Alaafin of Oyo(GOV. SEYI MAKINDE)

Shockwaves are reverberating across Yorùbáland and the global Yorùbá diaspora following the sudden death of the Baba Ọba (King’s Father) of the famed Oyotunji African Village in South Carolina, USA. The late Baba Ọba, Lukman Arohunfale, a revered socialite and traditionalist, passed away under circumstances already sparking fierce controversy. His death comes just days after he publicly accused the newly installed Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty Oba Akeem Adéyẹmọ Owoade, of allegedly ordering his courtiers to beat him mercilessly during a recent courtesy visit to the Oyo palace in Nigeria. In a widely circulated voice recording, the deceased recounted how what was meant to be a simple homage turned violent. Why Kollington And Other Fuji Stars Are Paying Homage To Transporter Turned King, Jafo Authourity

With a recent visit of Fuji music legend, Alhaji Kollington Ayinla to the new Oniba of Iba in Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, HRM, Oba (Dr.) Sulaiman Adeshina, a Transport Unionist, who ascended the throne of his forefathers in December, 2020, the rank of Fuji music stars who have paid homage to the King has kept growing.

And truly, the Fuji music stars owe the royal father who was better known by his nickname, Jafo Authority, before becoming a Monarch such homage. Up till the time he was installed as the Oniba of Iba, Jafo Authority was the Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of Nagari Nakowa Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (NNMORA), an affiliate of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), and was a major patron to Fuji music stars like other NURTW topshots.

As a matter of fact, hardly would you listen to any album in the last few years by any of the stars in the Fuji music industry without you hearing a special number waxed for Jafo Authority. And interestingly, Jafo Authority is also a hotelier who some of the Fuji music stars always enjoy the goodwill to lodge at his hotel when ever they have shows in the axis where the hotel is located somewhere around Okoko Maiko, Lagos State.

Hence, it should not be surprising to have seen the likes of Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Odetola popularly known as Pasuma, Alhaji Saheed Okunola simply known as Saheed Osupa, Alhaji (Dr.) Sefiu Alao Adekunle also known as Baba Oko, King Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe Marshal better known as K1, Alhaji Sulaiman Alao Adekunle better known as Malaika, and Alhaji Taye Adebisi popularly known as Taye Currency, all talking turns to pay homage to Jafo Authority at his palace in Iba town, before Kollington recently did so too.

The visits can easily be interpreted to be their show of love and appreciation to one of the men in the fold of Transport Union who have made them happy with constant patronage and support in the course of their respective music careers. And certainly, more of the Fuji music stars are still expected to follow suit with their own homage in the coming days.
