Spiritual herbalist and Wife named Ayiowuewi Hazzan aka (Imo Yoruba) who operates on social media, were on Monday, brought before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, over alleged possession of human flesh and skulls.
The couple, Imo Yoruba who lives in Ibadan, are facing a two-count charge bordering on possession of human skull and flesh.
They confessed to be using the human parts to make money rituals for their customers. After so much interrogation, they also told the Police that they have people who supplies the parts they needed for their rituals.
Police prosecutor, ASP Ebenezer Adeyela said that Ayiowuewi Hazzan aka Imo Yoruba. and Wife was caught with a human skull and flesh on July 25th 2018 at about 10.30 am at their home in the city of Ibadan.
He said, “The couple was arrested by the police following a tip-off from members of the public”.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened section 329 (a) of the criminal code, laws of Oyo State 2000.
The accused, while responding to the charges, however pleaded not guilty.
Counsel to the suspects, Mr. O.O.C. Alabi-Oyo, in his argument, urged the court to grant them bail in liberal terms.
Chief Magistrate Mr. Adisa Oladele, while ruling on the bail application, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties each.
Oladele said one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the accused, while another surety should be an employee of Oyo State Government or Local Government on at least Grade Level 07.
In addition, he said the civil servant should produce evidence of three years tax payment.
The case was later adjourned to September 17th for trial. After the Trial the couple later escaped to unknow destination, but investigation reached the Police that they were seen in Ogun State. The Police went to the location and they were caught.
The Police arrested the couple and they later served 2years imprisonment.
