Funke Akindele, Mercy Aigbe, Biola Adebayo And Others Mourn The Death Of Dr Chinelo

Nigerian celebrities have taken to their social media pages to mourn the untimely death of young Dr Chinelo Megafu who was shot on a train on Kaduna-Abuja expressway.

The overseas bound medical doctor, reportedly died from gunshot injuries sustained during the terrorists attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday, March 28.

She had announced on Twitter that she was shot and asked for prayers but Nigerians had slammed her for clout chasing.

“I’m in the train. I have been shot. Please pray for me”.

Following the heartbreaking news, celebrities like Funke Akindele, Reno Omokri, Mercy Aigbe, Biola Bayo, Mayorkun and others took to their Instagram pages to mourn her.

Funke Akindele : “This news is so heartbreaking. My heart goes out to families if that lost loved ones in the Kaduna-Abuja train attack in Nigeria. May the souls of the departed Rest in Peace. AMEN This is so sad”.

Mercy Aigbe wrote, “I woke up with an heavy heart completely heartbroken…I am so drained… God this country is exhausting… When exactly will God answer our prayers and flush out these evil leaders??? Seeing the replies to Dr Chinelo’s tweet further broke me..has it degenerated to this? Where is the love??? No empathy whatsoever… people just hide behind their key pads and are quick to unleash venom…how did we get here??? I know we have horrible leaders but truth is as a people, we can do better.. it doesn’t cost a thing to show love, you don’t know the actual situations people are in, don’t be too quick to judge most people are in, don’t be too quick to judge most especially when you are not privy to events, situations, Dr Chinelo only asked for prayers, yet she was mocked, bullied, attacked, cursed. With sadness in heart I say R.I.P to another promising, young Nigerian, whose wife was cut short because of this horrible system..R.I.P to those who lost their lives, Nigeria failed you. As a people we can do better, cos we are all we’ve got”..

Actress, Biola Bayo, “Another attack in less than 24 hours??? My heart bleeds. Lord have mercy on us and heal our land. Nigeria is sick. I commiserate with every family affected by the last two train attacks on Kaduna-Abuja way. How exactly do we get here? No where seems to be save anymore; we now live in so much fear; Nobody seems to be accountable or anything anymore. 2023 is almost here, vote wisely!!! Till then and beyond, May God continue to keep us away from any form of evil, May we never be a victim of circumstances in Jesus name.

Wale Jana : “Condolences to all who lost their lives during the Kaduna train terrorists attack. So sad and so painful. May God comfort their family”

Singer Mayorkun, “My heart goes out to everyone affected by the Kaduna train attack! It’s very unreasonable & undeserving to say the least. Reading the sad story about Chinelo and that even makes me feel worse, she and everyone on that train didn’t deserve this. People are really struggling to survive in a horrible economy that doesn’t favour the average Nigerian at all, and we are still being killed in the midst of everything. It’s high time we held our leaders accountable for our lives & properties… It’s what they promised us and what we voted them to do. Today it’s Kaduna & if nothing continues to be done.. tomorrow it could be anywhere else”.

Reno Omokri wrote, “Thank you all for the minute of silence for Dr. Chinelo. May God grant her repose and may He comfort her family and may those who killed her so callously be brought to justice, either now, it when good governance returns to Nigeria. And may we, as a nation, regain our sense of humanity. In Christ’s Name”.
