He was found Dead later that morning by a staff member.
Adebimpe Alasoadura, had denied rape and later pleaded not guilty after her DNA matched a sample from the victim.
The 55-year-old nurse worked in healthcare as a nurse for some years before the attack.
According to the report, Adebimpe has many records of sleeping with people's husbands and destroying their homes.
The judge at Dublin's Central Criminal Court described the rape as "an egregious breach of trust by a qualified and experienced healthcare worker".
The victim's family told the court Adebimpei had "single-handedly destroyed our papa's life".
CCTV footage from the nursing home at the time of the rape showed Adebimpe going in and coming out of the man's room at about 03:00 local time on 3 April.
Later that morning, another staff member found the victim upset before his death but coherent .
Gardaí (Irish police) were called and the man was able to make a statement about the rape before he gave up.
He told the officers he was in his room all the time as residents were "locked in because of the virus".
Adebimpe was arrested 11 days later.
After some years in Irish Prison, she was later released and she left Dublin.
