His death comes just days after he publicly accused the newly installed Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty Oba Akeem Adéyẹmọ Owoade, of allegedly ordering his courtiers to beat him mercilessly during a recent courtesy visit to the Oyo palace in Nigeria. In a widely circulated voice recording, the deceased recounted how what was meant to be a simple homage turned violent. New Royalty Introduced To Oyo Months After Alaafin’s Death

A new royalty has been introduced into the courts of the Alaafin months after the death of the ruling monarch, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, in April.

Esabod Global News recalls that the Oyo empire was thrown into mourning when news broke out that the Alaafin had joined his ancestors.

The news, shocking to many, was unbelievable when it was first announced until the palace confirmed that the king died after a brief illness at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state.

A new update that emerged concerning the Alaafin’s palace is unveiling the new Elegeun after the demise of the previous one.

According to an official statement on Alaafin’s official Instagram page, the need to continue promoting the Yoruba culture and tradition of the late Alaafin Oba Adeyemi III has prompted the installation of the new royalty identified as Sangowale Obuowo.

Reports revealed that Sangowale Obuowo was a decent of Ile Otapo, Asipa, in Oyo state.

The statement reads: “We are introducing to the world that sequel to the vacant position of the late Elegun who joined his ancestors and the need to continue the promotion of Yoruba Culture and Tradition as a work in progress of Alaafin Oba Adeyemi III, we present to you the NEW ELEGUN SANGO KOSO, he is SANGOWALE IBUOWO from ILE OTAPO, Asipa, Oyo.”

Esabod Global News recalls how the late Alaafin of Oyo built houses for his wives before his demise in April 2022.

The wives took to social media to show off the new house gifts they received from the late ruler as part of their inheritance.

Queen Opeyemi shared her house online and expressed appreciation to her late husband for gifting her a befitting home. She also prayed that her late husband would continue to find peace.

She wrote: “Every day, I wake up to the immense thought of my husband and his impactful life on me before his demise. I give gratitude to Allah.”

“This is one of the numerous gifts His Imperial Majesty Iku Baba Yeye gifted me. A gift of a befitting house was least expected, but my late husband made it happen.”

“Once again, my appreciation knows no limit. Even in eternity, my love for you is limitless. May you find peace wherever your soul is, my dear husband.”
