Popular comedian and actor turned preacher Oluwatoyin Bayegun also known as Woli Arole, has expressed concerns over some of the current trends in Nigeria’s gospel music industry.
He bemoaned that “hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism” have taken over the gospel music scene.
The 35 year old movie actor noted that invitations for ministration are now based on connections rather than the leading of the Holy Spirit.
The fiery preacher said it has become difficult to distinguish between a gospel music minister and a secular artiste. In a recent Instagram post, he wrote:
The level of hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism in the gospel music industry in Nigeria is alarming. Oh yes! Invitations are based on who you know, not as the Spirit leads. Music ministers too—we can’t differentiate whether you’re a performer or a minister. It’s well!”
In other news Nigerian movie actor Sanusi Izihaq popularly known as Apankufor or Apa has revealed why he didn’t give up on being a Nollywood actor.
Apa credited Ibrahim Chatta for being the reason he still has an acting career and thriving at it. The actor who revealed he was formerly known as a Continuity Manager in the industry shared some challenges he faced.
