CYBER CRIMINAL: Court Grants Exparte Injunction Against Odegbami, Seven Others

 

An Upper Area Court in Ilorin, Kwara State has granted an exparte injunction in the Criminal Defamation and Threat to Life suit filed by Mr. Ashimiyu Suraju against Tolulope Odegbami, a social media influencer and seven others.

The Suit No. UACI/CRF/244/2025 was brought in pursuant of Section 135(2) of the Kwara State Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2018 on 18 July, 2025.

fter listening to O.T Jimoh, Counsel to Mr. Suraju, the Presiding Judge, Hon I.S Adeniyi ordered that “the Applicant should be allowed to serve the Court processes on all the Defendants by substituted means, particularly through the Sahara Reporter, Vanguard and Leadership Newspapers, their various WhatsApp Phone Numbers and other online Social Media Platforms, including those


operated among the Defendants.

The Court however adjourned the case to 28 July, 2025.
