Rwanda and Kenya announce visa-free for Nigerians, other Africans

Rwanda and Kenya have declared that there will be an end to visa requirements for all African visitors.

This introduction makes Rwanda and Kenya the fourth and fifth African countries to do so after Seychelles, The Gambia, and Benin.

Unrestricted travel for Africans within the continent has been an objective of the African Union (AU) for the past decade.

“Let there be no mistake about it. Any African can get on a plane to Rwanda whenever they wish and will not pay a thing to enter our country,” Rwanda President, Paul Kagame said on Thursday in Kigalki when he pitched the potential of Africa as “a unified tourism destination”

Rwanda has been on a campaign to boost its tourism sector, partnering with European football clubs like Arsenal and Bayern Munich to promote the country as a tourist destination.
