Shockwaves are reverberating across Yorùbáland and the global Yorùbá diaspora following the sudden death of the Baba Ọba (King’s Father) of the famed Oyotunji African Village in South Carolina, USA. The late Baba Ọba, Lukman Arohunfale, a revered socialite and traditionalist, passed away under circumstances already sparking fierce controversy. Tonto, who visited under the auspice of Tonto Dikeh Foundation donated relief materials, including money to inmates.

“In line with our vision, I have come here to let the inmates know that we are not giving up on them and that they have a bright future ahead outside of this place,” she said.
“Whatever happens, they are still Nigerians, and needed to know that today is our Democracy day, and being made happy. They still have a lot to contribute to the society irrespective of their present circumstances.”
Apart from the relief items, she also paid for the release of an inmate who was in detention because he was unable to provide the said bail term.
