Davido Shamed Celebrities Begging Fans For Birthday Money After A Donation Of N200 Million Birthday Gift

Nigerian singer Davido Adeleke better known as Davido, has shamed Nigerian celebrities planning to beg their followers for birthday money and those who post their bank account details online.

Esabod Global News recalls Davido, on Tuesday night, 16th November, handed a task to his close friends and associates ahead of his 29th birthday set to take place on 21st November 2021.

In a post via his Instagram story, the Nigerian celebrity challenged his friends and everyone who had enjoyed his music to send 1 million Naira each to his account.

In what seemed like a joke, Davido’s bank account, in less than 24 hours, raked over N100 million from many celebrities such as Mr Eazi, Nengi, Zlatan, Dorathy Bachor, Oba Elegushi, Cubana Chiefpries and others.

This led to an outrage on social media, with many Nigerian celebrities posting their bank details online and soliciting birthday money from their fans and friends ahead of their birthdays.

It is unclear if some of these celebrities who shared their bank details online received money from their fans or friends like Davido.

However, Davido broke the social media on Saturday, 20th November 2021, after revealing he would donate the N201 million he received as a birthday gift from friends and associates and an extra N50 million to different charity organisations across Nigeria.
